We present the third compilation of ambient and experimental music, for this delivery we unite different styles of producers from Colombia, Argentina, France, the United States and Mexico.

We will gradually listen to a sound tour resulting in a diverse palette of colors, mostly deep and of sounds dedicated to the contemplation of space and the passing of time and created from its origin with various compositional techniques.

Max Dahlhaus' latest release ‚Glacier' is the soundtrack for Collection XVI, the newest collection by Enfin Levé. Being a technical and rather experimental fashion brand, of course the thought of backing the brand’s unique design approach came first with this track. Next, Max connected the songs design with nature shots of Island, where the footage for the collection’s mood material (including a breathtaking video) was shot in 2021. By weaving in field recordings of wind and water, but also crackling and noisy sound walls created with the Lyra by SOMA, the motions of nature are intensified. Last but definitely not least, Max brought in his own, unique and brutalist music approach, creating a strong soundtrack for the brand.

With the 'Glacier (Club Version)' you will get what the name already promises: a ruff and more beat oriented, but still experimental version of the title track. With trance elements and a broken, marching bass drum, the whole pieces is lifted onto a dance floor full of IDM enthusiasts.

Rounding up the EP is 'Synthetic Ogives’, an ambient piece, that plays with abrupt ups and downs, cinematic melodies and field recordings of wind and rain.

Senyawa’s Alkisah release is an experiment in decentralised music distribution. The duo of Rully Shabara and Wukir Suriyadi held an open call from which they selected 44 music labels disseminated across the world to participate by creating different versions of the work for different regional markets. The connections forged during this monumental project continues today as The Alkisah Network. Ahead of a presentation and panel discussion at CTM, the network has kindly shared a mix of some of the many Alkisah remixes out there.

CTM 2022: The Alkisah Remixes

Second track ‘Chaosmosis' from the upcoming album ‘Inertia’ out on https://www.soundcloud.com/infinite-machine on 1st of July.

’Chaosmosis’ is also a web animation, which u can view at the address: https://chaosmos.is  (only laptop/desktop works) 

The generative animation is programmed with Three.js library and with two different 3D models of Russian shipwrecks sunken in the Gulf of Finland in the 18th century. The Finnish Maritime Museum generously published those models online for free of use.

The whole album is inspired by the philosopher Franco ‘Bifo’ Berardi’s 'Futurability' book and the way it deals with the systematic failure of Neo Liberal Capitalism and the current inability to resist it.  

The 'Chaosmosis' webpage project is a poetic rendering of the failing structures of current hegemony. The sunken imperialistic war and cargo ships of the Russian empire has of course political connotations of this current moment, but they can also be seen as more abstract remnants of the past. Disappearing and rotten forms.

The latest release by Australian, Berlin-based artist Felicity Mangan collects a series of works created during 2020 and 2021 and reveals the artist’s fascination with all things water and other related phenomena. Featuring a wide scope of works – a recording of a performance utilising biorhythms and timbres collected from river banks sits next to a monophonic installation piece inspired by both amphibians and amphitheaters or recordings of a human-frog conversation – ‘Wet On Wet’ is fascinating both in concept and sonics, continuing to expand on Mangan’s previous interest in biophonic patterns, quasi-bioacoustics and aural illusions.
