"Pink Floyd has played a huge role in both our lives. It's been opening our eyes to some of the absurdities of modern society, but also helped overcome the resignation that comes with it. Pink Floyd also helped go through difficult times and all albums had a different impact: Wether it was 'The Wall', 'Animals', or 'The Piper at The Gates of Dawn'... We felt the necessity to give something back and do it right, taking our time and showing respect to such masterpieces.

This tribute project started in 2014 when Mynox was producing on his own in Montreal. 2 minutes were arranged but the project got dropped for 3 years. In 2017, while sorting old Ableton files and samples, we decided to take this one project, dust it off and finalize it in our own esthetics.

Working on Pink Floyd material is both easy and extremely challenging. Easy because the musicality and quality of the samples is remarkable and difficult because one wants to stay true to the original and show some respect to this unique band that has been influencing the world for decades.

The song has two parts that try to achieve different things. The first one is close to the original, following vocals and the arrangement that is to be found on The Wall (Part II of the original).

A bridge helps transition into a more chaotic, psychedelic second part in which we took some freedom and created a deeper atmosphere. The goal was to build everything from scratch while keeping a reference to the original with the processed hypnotic vocals. This part originally featured an original guitar solo (actually two...) but we decided to take them off and keep the solos for the live renditions. Christian Craken runs the PHOBIA label in Bulgaria, and kindly took some of his precious time to work with “Palmetto”. It will take moment until you realize that “Palmetto” is really underneath his remix but once the catchy melody starts you will get what happened. And isn't that what a good remix is all about? Creating something new from tearing apart something already existing.

Their signature, processed vocals shine on the infectious and entrancing ‘For Every Forever’. It’s a sound they have developed over their releases for Afterlife and is now truly their own. A Dub Mix of the title track offers a slightly more pared down alternative. ‘Stairway 3000’ completes the record, an eyes-down roller with a bassline to shake any room to its core.

His next production features a brilliant new EP called “Ivory” and enters the Wout Records catalogue as number 81. The title track recalls the beginnings of electronic music with its soft synthesizer sounds and long pads; all in a dark curtain. The compositional structure ranks around a powerful vocoder loop, driven by a straight kick and no frills drums. Although there is a wide range of sounds, each element has been given its own place. Track two entitled “Hiraeth” follows on seamlessly. A massive, somber atmosphere rises up here as well created by minor keys and unison synths. This track is enriched with seductive energy, delivering a complex-forward stomping groove that fits in any situation. The complete composition has a dynamic feeling and a high number of surprise moments, with a growing progression and rich arrangements. A perfect match for our label.

An avatar (Sanskrit: अवतार, IAST: avatāra), a concept in Hinduism that means "descent", is the material appearance or incarnation of a deity on earth. The relative verb to "alight, to make one's appearance" is sometimes used to refer to any guru or revered human being. The word avatar does not appear in the Vedic literature, but appears in verb forms in post-Vedic literature, and as a noun particularly in the Puranic literature after the 6th century CE. Despite that, the concept of an avatar is compatible with the content of the Vedic literature like the Upanishads as it is symbolic imagery of the Saguna Brahman concept in the philosophy of Hinduism.
