Swiss producer Sandhog has recently released two deep and captivating tracks that showcase his rising star in the electronic music scene. Both tracks are signed to Berlin-based record label, Exploited, which has become well-known for its roster of talented artists who specialize in house and techno music.

The first track, "Accent," features a bouncing, twanging bass pulse that is soon accompanied by dramatic '80s synth-pop blasts and a plucked riff that hammers away while drenched in a spacious reverb. The full melody then unfurls, with the bassline and riff chromatically descending in unison. The spine-tingling riffs are further enhanced by subtle automation, while a distorted, bleeping lead cuts through the soundscape dramatically, and a spoken vocal adds more color. The breakdown features a dark texture with a buzzing, detuned vibe that creates a ship-tooting-its-way-into-harbor effect. The track is brilliantly produced, making it a perfect fit for big rooms.

The second track, "Nechama," rewards patient listeners with its wiggling bassline and gently swaying percussive rhythms cut through with filtered, distant synth swells that tease out the chord progression. A bluesy harmonica lick appears out of nowhere, providing an organic counterweight to the synthetic tension as the percussion builds. Then, a throat singer enters with a mystical vibe, creating a droning modulation that resembles a human didgeridoo. Despite being monotone, the sound evolves constantly, making it a fascinating contrast to the delightful, playful synth hook that rises from the depths and could easily be from a classic Depeche Mode or The Cure record.

Exploited records have been instrumental in shaping the sound of modern electronic music, with their roster of artists including Adana Twins, Claptone, and Doctor Dru. With Sandhog's recent release, the label's reputation for quality and innovation is sure to continue to soar.
