Sol Selectas new release welcomes the return of Ulises who featured tracks on the last two Summer Sol mixed artist compilations, but this time returns with his own EP also including remixes from David Mayer, Geju and Roderic.

Argentinian artist Ulises has a downtempo style that blends ambient textures with earthy percussion and aboriginal chants to create chugging grooves with hallucinogenic sound design. Along with Sol Selectas his tracks and remixes have also been featured on LNDKHN, Exotic Refreshment, Cosmic Awakenings, Kamai Music and MoBlack Records.

Germany’s David Mayer is a highly sought after remix artist who has worked with labels such as Mobilee Records, Stil Vor Talent, Get Physical, Bedrock and Objektivity. Having reworked the music of people like Rampa, Audiojack and Claude VonStroke, he previously featured on Sol Selectas in 2018 with a remix of Zakir and is now making a much-anticipated return.

My love for electronic music started mainly in the 80s. At that time, bands like New Order (Joy Devision) or Depeche Mode came up and different music styles such as punk and rock became more electronic. At the beginning of the time I heard things like Kraftwerk, Front 242, Clan of Xymos, EBM, ACID House... .

I remember very clearly, at that time I was 15 years old. I drifted all alone in an inflatable boat on a large lake in Norway. I had a huge cassette recorder from Hitachi and an old cassette from my father. There was only one song playing for hours, "Fade to Grey" by Visage. while I enjoyed the original lake panorama and dreamed of the big wide world (cyrcle alla 80th).

The great love for electronic music has never left me. I took part in the big RAVE time and was always at events until the last few years. Lately, I like to listen to Deep in different forms. 

I am hearing the music on the speakers of Canton, A45 Audio Edition and a correspondingly fine drawing amplifier.

But the real speakers that reveal the great secret of analog electronic music are from the end of the 80s, the Canton CT 800 or, for the smaller room, the Canton Karat 200, both three-way systems with the sound characteristics of the time. Together with a timely relative, a high-priced amplifier (class A or AA) from the companies Kenwood or Technics, the sounds will then be separated and displayed again in the original characteristics.

You'll be surprised how well current Deep will sound on these music systems.
