German duo Piedmont deliver a two-track individual about Zurich's definition: music in March this year, the title "Save Me / Elastic".

Frederic Moering-Sack and Christian De Jonquieres aka Piedmont have been publishing their distinctive twisted kind of house music over a decade on the likes of Exploited, Terminal M, Skint, distant area and of course definition: music where they return here. A label that has played host material from the likes of Darius Syrossian, Josh Butler, Reboot, Nick Curly, and many more.

Until first on the package is "Save Me", a progressive tension composition fueled over 6 minutes with elongated bass drones, sweep synth swells, atmospheric chords, and a rhythmic shuffle.

"Elastic" follows and the release completes, for a restrained approach decide about wobbling organic percussion and bellied bass drones next to a dynamic, synth hook further developed and snaking synth surrupts and buzzing vocal.

Unafraid we can attest “Despertar” is one of the most intriguing and beautiful albums to emerge from the Spanish’s electronic music scene in 2017. A celebrated debut by the Elizondo (Pamplona) based artist Piek, one of a kind emerged from the most versatile musical scene, not in vain he creates inspired by the magic of great names such as Sigur Ros, Moderat or Bonobo.
“Despertar” is the title chosen for the debut LP of this producer and dedicated music lover from Pamplona. One of a kind due to his versatility exploring into skittering beats and a magnetic electronic music. On the album no two tracks are wholly similar; each have their own distinguishing features and incredible songwriting. Are you awake for a unique journey into synth soundtracks, contemporary soul music, futuristic hip-hop rhymes and floating beats? One of the virtues contained in this album is when the artist builds his songs around guest vocals, adding a unique panache but also sacrificing total control. When Piek identifies and aligns his instrumental aesthetic with the emotive output of his guests - Ria, Ryan Roush, Cheney, Kash, Hokhok, Zebulon and Jim Hast- the results are just amplifying and electrifying. “Despertar” contains also an audible gold featuring by the music-composer Fabel and a Tony Phillips poem.

Vomvo is back with a cinematic story by the Danish artist Pete Oak. He is definitely one of the men to follow this year. Pete presents an amazing selection of pure electronic sounds giving his personal touch and offering his own soundtrack.
Vomvo is a conceptual album created by Sincopat that gives a different artist every year the chance to orchestrate a personal vision of his sound. Darlyn Vlys was the first one to develop this concept and AFFKT continued last year with another stunning collection. In 2007, we have Pete Oak as the leader, so let's enjoy the journey:
"For this VOMVO I wanted to create a dark, melancholic and emotional mood. I’m a big fan of the dark aspect of house music. For me it brings out a lot of emotions and joy - it pulls me into a small universe with no worries, no hate, no pain and no Donald Trumps - only love”.
“All the music is handpicked from producers that I have worked with in one-way or another. Big and small artists - all of whom got something unique to bring to the table. We just literally can't get enough of the German duo Piemont who have been consistently feeding us 110% top quality deep house for the last 3 years. Save me is out soon on Definition:Music and clearly shows how the duo keeps constantly evolving and innovating. The track is characterized by the very Piemont:ish funky percussion and drums but takes a slightly more progressive, melodic approach reminding us a lot of artists such as Ten Walls and Hernan Cataneo.  Well done once again Chris and Frederic!

‘Elastic’ follows and rounds out the release, opting for a more reserved approach via tumbling organic percussion and bulbous bass drones alongside a dynamic, evolving synth hook and snaking synth whirrs and vocal hums.
