Forest On Stasys (@forestonstasys), owner and electronic explorer in Danza Nativa (@danza-nativa). The creativity of Forest On Stasys is Influenced by tribal minimalist techno in the nineties and the deepest and most abstract techno currently. In his tracks the most seductive elements are the use of resonant basses perfectly combined with long and reverberated pads, extensive sonorous landscapes that are modified by continuous movement of LFO, solid grooves and strident percussions. But not everything that comes out of his head is created with an intention to be used on the dance floor. He has a great admiration for drone and ambient tracks, without a rhythmic pattern that predominates, where the main factor is to captivate the listener with melodies that can be marked by a strong melancholy or with notes that give a certain feeling of satisfaction depending on his current mood.

Avsluta (@avsluta) is a London-based DJ, live performer and curator. While her output is diverse in both her live performances and DJ sets alike, it most often taps into the realms of downtempo, UK-bass and off-kilter deep techno, navigating the in-betweens of ambient and dance music. Lucie runs Introspective Electronics (@introspective_electronics), a platform exploring the vast diversity of ambient, downtempo and electronica. Together with the London-based DJ and producer Alicia, she co-curates Terra Obscura (@terra-obscura-london), a quarterly event series focusing on chill-out-tinged UK bass. In collaboration with Christian Duka and IKLECTIK, she co-organises SONIC GARDEN, a series of experimental ambient and downtempo events at IKLECTIK's Old Paradise Yard. Over the past few years, Lucie has shared line-ups with the likes of Donato Dozzy, DJ Nobu, Primal Code and more, and played live and DJ sets in the UK and around Europe. Her recent releases include solo EP on Secuencias Temporales and compilation contributions for Huinali Recordings and Knekelhuis.

After belonging to the Move and Skyzoo Spanish collectives in the mid-90s, Fran Campos (@fran-campos) became part in the 2000's of the team of residents of Le Club and in the organization of the Observatori festival . In 2010 begins Black Label, a monthly party at Miniclub, where, for 5 years, he unveiled his Housier side. Then he was busy with his residency at Jerusalem Club, Caravaca (Proper Club), and with the organization and residency of the Taiga parties in Madrid, betting on contemporary Techno with a deep character. Currently, he continues to be interested in the most avant-garde musical currents that Techno hosts, from Ambient to Deep Techno, through Electro, Halftime, and even D&B. Adelia (@adelia_adelia) is a  DJ originally from Prague and currently based in Spain. She has her unique vision for techno music. Hypnotic and otherworldly soundscapes with the power to transport listeners beyond the confines of our universe, to other dimensions. Adelia is known for her precision and selectivity when it comes to choosing tracks for her mixes. She can spend hours searching for the perfect tracks, always striving to deliver a deep, hypnotic techno sound that transports the listener to another galaxy.  During the years Adelia had played in various locations across the Czech Republic, as well as in other European countries such as Slovakia, Hungary, Italy, and of course  Barcelona city. Adelia's innovative approach to techno has earned her a dedicated following, and she has been invited to many podcast series, such as Oslated, Bahn Barcelona, and Radio Ozora, among many others. In addition to her artist path, she has also organized many techno events in the past, which has further honed her ability to connect with the crowd. Furthermore, she is part of the team behind the electronic music festival Mostra Barcelona.

ABSIS -now (@absismusic) and MouseDown -before, also known as Salva Coromina, has been a regular DJ in the Barcelona scene since the late 90’s under a different alias: mouseDown/mouseUp. He was a resident DJ at The Loft and a regular at Sónar, both in Barcelona, for many years. HOCast #175 - Melina Serser - Paral·lel 2023

"I'm transported back to that day as I drove my van down from the Alpujarras to Granada. Views of the sea from the high mountains. Curves and deep rhythms and hypnotic beats coming from the speakers. A journey to Granada that I never wanted to end."

Influenced by sounds such as bebop or progressive psychedelic rock and focused on experimental and ambient music rather than clubbing in his beginnings, Pharma (@pharmahplc) later delved into the deep and immersive sound, creating an amalgam that has been interconnecting through the passage of time to finally take shape into both listening and clubbing sets with a specific musical discourse in each context, connected with common elements, where the density between light and shadow promotes a mental activity that prevails over physical activity. He is currently focused on Masa Series (@masaseries), a label he co-runs which is related to the different subgenres of electronic music since 2020.

OmNa (@djomna) seeks for emotional catharsis in deep, minimal, and experimental techno. Drawing from the European techno influences, and combining them with the Mediterranean tradition, she curates mixes which blend energy with emotion. She is a co-founder of Bureau Noir (@bureau-noir) in San Francisco, curating a podcast series for deep and minimal music.

Ronny Pinazza (@ronny_pinazza) tries to convey the feeling of the infinite timelessness of the soul of nature with music in an understandable language. His DJ sets are always driving, ritualistic. Natural sounds and hypnotic melodies allow the listener to reach another state of consciousness. His productions are experimental, unorthodox. Hypnotic rhythms and driving beats characterize his tracks, always filled with natural sounds. The listener is transported in a space that seems to exist between the stars. Deep in his heart he believes in infinity and that time and space are only imaginations. His goal is to express these inner feelings with music, so in 2021 he set out to develop his musical language. He's a prominent figure on the global techno circuit, gracing iconic venues such as Tresor and Berghain, as well as featuring at festivals worldwide, including the prestigious Labyrinth Festival in Japan. Semantica has served as a platform for heavyweight artists such as Surgeon, Oscar Mulero, Regis, and Donato Dozzy, as well as emerging talents like Acronym, Stanislav Tolkachev, Abdulla Rashim, Shifted, and Varg, among others. Svreca has been sharpening his vision through his own label, while also collaborating and recording for esteemed labels like Jealous God, Warm Up Recordings, and Spazio Disponibile.

After belonging to the Move and Skyzoo Spanish collectives in the mid-90s, Fran Campos (@fran-campos) became part in the 2000's of the team of residents of Le Club and in the organization of the Observatori festival . In 2010 begins Black Label, a monthly party at Miniclub, where, for 5 years, he unveiled his Housier side. Then he was busy with his residency at Jerusalem Club, Caravaca (Proper Club), and with the organization and residency of the Taiga parties in Madrid, betting on contemporary Techno with a deep character. Currently, he continues to be interested in the most avant-garde musical currents that Techno hosts, from Ambient to Deep Techno, through Electro, Halftime, and even D&B. Always selecting the best music at the periphery of the industry.

This vinyl set took place at midday on Sunday, in the Foso of the Castell de Montjuïc, with the epic feeling of dancing under that intense spring rain. The third edition of Mostra 24 (@mostrabcn) brought together more than 1,000 people across two different locations and featured four days of musical acts. The lineup included 32 artists who delivered high-quality avant-garde and experimental electronic sounds.

Embodying a profound and instinctual allure, Javier Salazar (@javrsalazar) remains an enigmatic force in the contemporary music landscape. Founders of rdg tribe (@rdgtribe), their sound is characterized by elegant and soaring rhythms creating immersion through a continued dedication to diversifying their selection, blending genres and atmospheres. The two are also part of La Vallée Electrique (@Melifera_Records) in which they shape a cohesive whole among the artists of the festival. Records from the duo are available on Oslated and their own imprint, drawing listeners into a smooth current of sounds.

HOCast #197 - Javier Salazar - Perpendicular 2024

"I find myself immersed in an abstract and dark symphony. Certain passages are ritualistic, while others evoke a cinematic quality, like a listener on a train watching the music pass by. It's a blend of intangible and ethereal sensations where frequencies transform into dark matter, transporting you to sonic universes that challenge the boundaries of perception."

Bassywax (@bassywax) is the creative character and parallel reality from Asier Arias, a 29-year-old Donostia based dj and producer. Deep lover of sonic storytellings, intimate dancefloor gatherings, psychedelia and vinyl records, he is part of Nigma (@nigma-dss), a collective and party series focused on developing a local techno scene around Donostia, north of Spain. Big nerd on the studio, still on the process of self discovery and identity development in the realm of sound production.

Author note: As for this mix, left the dancefloor focus aside and tried getting weird while exploring different sonic places. Not much to say, let the music play and enjoy the trip.

Richard Chartier (@richard-chartier) is a Los Angeles based artist, considered one of the key figures in minimalist sound art. Chartier’s works explore the inter-relationships between the spatial nature of sound, silence, focus, perception, and the act of listening itself. Chartier's sound works/installations have been presented in galleries and museums internationally and he has performed his work live across Europe, Japan, Australia, and North America at digital art/electronic music festivals and exhibits.

After a few years, we are celebrating—reaching 200, who would have thought! It all started as a happy idea talking with friends from Hausofcolor. "Could we upload the djsets from the parties?" we wondered. And what if we talk to friends from Barcelona to express themselves through music?

Then, with the pandemic, the purpose evolved: to share completely heterogeneous music every week. I aimed to create different dynamics with various lights and concepts. Over time, the channel has been defined in a more specific direction, where the subjective taste has dynamically and tendentially shaped the content. The music featured now can be broadly understood in two main abstract (and very holistic, it must be said) themes. Every week is a surprise. On the other hand, the audience can get a sense of the direction things are heading. There are these two main blocks: one of deep listening, ambient, avant-garde and concrete, minimalism and/or experimental, drone, or more eclectic pieces dedicated to the collector/selector. And another more dedicated to deep beats, at different speeds and rhythms but generally quite horizontal in nature.

I remember dedicating the 100th episode to my fav festival, La Mostra, F-on did a beat djset associated with the sounds you would find in its first edition. For this 200th episode, where La Mostra has now celebrated its third edition, the maestro Richard Chartier has prepared this delight of deep listening without beats. A bit of a summary of the two contexts you can find, broadly speaking, on HOC radio.

Menhir is a music and art collective formed by singer Coco Moya (@mediococo) and producer Iván Cebrián, based in Spain. In between contemporary electronics, ambient, and minimalism music. Menhir creates immersive musical experiences by combining analog synthesis soundscapes, ethereal voices, and layered sound processing.

Menhir's note: 

This mix is the result of exploring some of our musical influences. It features a couple of surprises, such as a recording we made of Gregorian chant at the monastery of Silos, a renowned site for this musical form across the peninsula. It's quite fascinating and beautiful how it blends into the mix with absolutely contemporary music. In essence, we were seeking music for listening and music as a form of knowledge.

For the past 20 years, Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo, known by his moniker STBL (@stable-mechanism), has been developing his work in the realms of electronic music and sound art. With beginnings deeply rooted in the most elusive and daring music, he has strived to maintain a stylistic coherence, oscillating between distinctly minimalist approaches and more "musical" ones, always balancing sobriety and rhetoric.

Author's note: My proposal for Temple clearly reflects all the paths I have been exploring in recent years, utilising field recordings, generative synthesis, and more classical ambient patterns. As is customary, each live performance by STBL is ephemeral and unique to each occasion, making this recording a snapshot of the present and a memory of my appearance at the marvellous Espacio Perpendicular.

Charlie Caves (@methodronee), a DJ from Ourense, began his career in Madrid, playing at venues like Siroco and Utopia before moving to Berlin to deepen his passion for music. Also known as METHODRONE, he’s always digging for originality in his sets. 

Author's note: "This 3-hour mix was recorded in June 2024 at my favorite spot in Madrid, Espacio Perpendicular, for the "Healing Forces x Sables Mouvants" party. It's my second time playing here, following a set last year for the Onyro party series. The mix showcases the versatility and depth I bring to different styles and BPMs, fully exploring my musical repertoire."

Adhémar (@adhemarmusic) is a multi-disciplinary artist, establishing his universe through music and visual works. Constantly in search of the luminous quality of sounds, in a world made of shadows and light, his music is closely linked to his plastic work. This obsession with shadows leads him to think and create spaces, atmospheres that focus on the lightness and poetry of light. The idea of "narrative potential of music", allows us to confront the psychological and philosophical journey with a particular relationship on what is alive and what surrounds us (whether it is the material, immaterial world, the fact that everything is constantly becoming). With a particular rigour for transitions, whether in his own production or in his DJset, his universe is built little by little, with the passing of sound transformations and the light and poetic transportation of it all.
