Down-tempo and ambient glide free over an experimental dialogue, oblivious to modes and fashions, giving rise to an adventure that flees from the darkness and the day to day to immerse us in that long-awaited ideal moment in which to meditate, open the windows inwards, enlightening the interior self and enjoy. State-of-the-art technology, live manipulation, and from the privacy of the studio, at the service of sensations and playful evasion as a first human need in clearly elusive times for lyrical expression.

Podcast 056 - DARRIS HOPPER

IN2STELLAR is a Melbourne-based DJ duo formed by Sarah and Georgia. In addition to composing their own music, DJing, and organizing events in their home country, they have also performed in numerous venues in Europe. 

We were fortunate to bump to each other recently, which resulted in this mix and possibly something more, subscribe for updates.
This contribution to the book is an ongoing journey of our recent fascination with the Australian approach to the electronics. Exciting swings between broken beats and straight grooves, starting off carefully, with neat and seamless minimalism. 

As the recording unfolds, the drive gradually builds, gently unveiling another face of the Australian dance scene and wrapping up the entire story in a very compact way.

This beautiful twelfth episode of our Herbarium series was recorded by the gifted @janloup. We are particularly impressed by this one as it underlines our love for brave sound experiments combined intriguing grooves. This journey goes into so many different directions while it never loses it's thrilling and powerful attitude.
Jan Loup chose the Helichrysum as the topic for this mix. This plant never let's its leaves fall, it keeps them all year. Its name comes from the sun “Helios” ( greek) and “Chrysos”, gold. It likes to install itself in the cracks between rocks, in an environnement close to the sea. It is known to have great power of healing wounds and burns. In Homer's Odyssee myth, Princess Nausicaa rubs the injured body of Ulysse with Helichrysum and saves him from death. The secret of her beauty resided in the daily usage of this plant as a youth elixir.
Despite this story, the plant is called immortal because even when cut, it keeps its shape, blossom and color. All the myths and the recent observation of her incredible properties make the Helichrysum mysterious and powerful. Resistant, resilient, curing.

Local Eora/ Sydney talent Charley Fester aka Command D (@commandd) for number #141. Having only been producing music for a couple of years, Charley burst onto the scene with an inspiring ray of enthusiasm, skill & output, with releases on outputs @purespacefm, @companionmelb & @minimal_collective.

The talented producer & dj has quickly marked his signature sound, dubby & smooth as silk, oozing a specific warmth and groove which listeners can quickly recognise as Command D. Keep an eye out for a forthcoming release by Charley out on Animalia, due out very soon :) He's also working on a debut live set which he'll showcase over the Australian summer.

"Venus appears to me in a dream. The sky is cloudless and I drift into a pine forest, mesmerised by the sound of her flute. I find myself entangled in a dance of indecipherable mumblings that, like the woods' inhabitants, change shape when night falls.
I glimpse a luminous mist in the distance, guiding me towards a veiled cedar cabin. I step inside, abandoning myself alongside the other participants. The melody of the flute begins to distort into a fossilised howl, melting into my eardrums and merging with the echoes of a forest that grows ever more distant.
And in the midst of these rustling whispers, I find myself reduced to dust. The flaming light of the cabin will show me the way out: in the fire of darkness, I choose a new life. "

Spanish-born but now based in Milan, Ultramarín (@ultramarin-blau) explores sound as a vessel of shifting consciousness. Embracing deep listening as a core element in her practice, her aim is to expand the boundaries of perception, going below the surface of what is heard. Distinguished by an eclectic approach, her sets span from experimental ambient to downtempo, to hypnotic and avant-garde techno.

Luismi aka guisvi (@guisvi), a music lover for more than 3 decades, has a wide range of atmospheric music. Exquisite selector and great storyteller, he has always been rather elusive in city clubs, often seen at private parties and the most underground events. His sets of ambient and low-tempo electronica are true journeys with subtle and extended blends. Sequences that breathe, atmospheres, and textures to dance with closed eyes.

Through meditation and distant oriental promises, I reach for a fragile peace, letting the noise of urban life dissolve into silence.
In that hush, a forest stirs: sap and shadow, the echo of drums older than language.
But the vision fractures.
Shamans emerge clad in chrome, their chants braided with circuitry. Mechanical rites ignite beneath a sky of fractured satellites and pollution, a cyberpunk liturgy where smoke is replaced by static, and comfort arrives in the strange glow of the synthetic.
What began as an escape becomes a mirror: nature and machine entwined, an apocalyptic communion where solace and dissonance share the same breath.

Josep Berruezo "Berru" (@dj-berru) is a Barcelona-born DJ and curator who helped shape the city’s underground techno scene with his Estratechno collective in the early 2010s. Performing as Dj Berru, he blends Detroit-inspired techno with ambient, dub, and hypnotic textures, crafting dark, machine-driven sets that invite a deeply psychedelic dance-floor experience, while his second alias, The Option B, offers a more colourful and nostalgic selection. Berru now curates Club Aura, uniting LAUT (@laut_barcelona) and Casa Montjuïc for extended-journey sets, sonic experimentation, and immersive video art.

Author’s note: In this set—beyond the water theme, where we play with certain field recordings that evoke it, like the dripping of irrigation systems, the Mediterranean Sea (since we are in Catalonia, with a poem by Ovidi Montllor at the beginning and another by Salvador Espriu near the end), rain, or even the washhouse itself—we also wanted to play with sunlight. Our set began in the sun and ended at night, and the musical progression was designed to follow that change.

Binomi (@binomi) is the project of Jordi Aparicio (@slim-jordi) and Joan Gila (@joan-gila), born from a friendship forged through music and a constant exchange of records, recommendations, and sonic curiosities. DJs and record collectors from Tarragona, they run the radio program of the Mostra festival together with their friend Javi, and have appeared on stations such as Dublab Barcelona with a show dedicated to exploring the history of musical movements across different regions.

DIGIT is a decentralized micro-festival of electronic music and digital art taking place on 12–13 September 2025 across Montbrió del Camp, Pratdip, and Reus (Tarragona). Organized by the cultural association El Rampell (@elrampell) - based in Pratdip, about 150 km from Barcelona - the festival brings contemporary culture to rural settings and the wider Tarragona region.

As part of the program, Binomi will perform at Els Rentadors during the deep-listening journey, sharing the stage with Bastien, .apart, Perila, and ABSIS.

Welcome to our first podcast, straight from Norway!
For our first round, we have invited our good friend, dj, and party organizer: Korpex.

The young berliner had his first success behind the turntables in the beginning of the new millennium. After moving to Norway in 2005, everything changed fast and Korpex had countless gigs and became resident at The Villa Oslo. 

In Oslo Korpex and his friends also started a new underground concept called: Amenta. Amenta was launched in 2011 and Korpex is one of the main guys behind the concept both as DJ and organizer. The event focuses on providing unforgettable nights on the dance floor, booking both Norwegian and international DJs. 

Korpex style varies between Detroithouse, driving Deephouse and Dubtechno.

After Monument introduced their new norwegian techno podcast, it was no question for him to make the first edition of the Monument series.

This man knows how to play, and also how to create epic underground nights, preferably starting in the night and ending in the morning.
