It’s peak Saturday night. Lasers, smoke, hazy dreams and perfectly tuned F1’s, even the trees are buzzing. The forest knows. Knows that a Japanese techno sensei is secretly entering Varden at 02:30 in the cover of darkness.

DOLTZ is a surprise, and not listed in the program. He comes in with an ambient, almost psychedelic sound. Then slowly layering of all the little sounds that circle around the main beat, letting tension build, balancing experimental and driving techno. There are no sudden drops, but periods of pulling back before reintroducing energy to the dance floor.

DOLTZ took us with him into what felt like a wormhole. The beat held us steady, but everything around it was spinning, stretching, and folding in on itself. The reactions from the Monument family were as different as they were similar. Some were jumping, some were shaking, others were dancing pirouettes, moving slowly, or standing still. At times, it was like being inside a centrifuge or a washing machine. Not dizzy, but surrounded, as if the sound pressed against the body. His set was a physical experience: immersive, disorienting, yet weirdly grounding at the same time. 

Friends, step into the rocketship and journey through the wormhole once again. Return to Doltz at Varden. The techno gods were smiling from ear to ear that night.

With their radioshow ‘’Electronic Idenntity Crises’’ on Relate Radio and their newest endeavor ‘’fruit salad’’ they’re building a world consisting of ambient, experimental electronica and multi-sensory gatherings.

For this Smoke mix they created a heartfelt beautiful journey through embracing difference and wanting to belong. A tension between darkness & release guided by warped sonics and melancholic melodies, a musical reflection about floating in between.

federico corrado delights us with delivering excellent sound material through different rhythms where the mystical, deep, hypnotic and soft take us to different environments creating a warm atmosphere called sequence where different interpretations appear through artists such as iwamaki from japan, brenno dellavecchia in switzerland and noah lyas in netherlands, making a different panorama where the elements of both remixes and reshape come together for a synergy that is extremely beautiful and pleasant to the ears.

Noises From Above: A Study in Quiet Intrusions is an album shaped around the small, persistent sounds that leak into our private spaces—those half-heard murmurs from neighbours, the distant thrum of traffic, the creaks and hums of a building settling into its own rhythms. The tracks capture a different facet of the world that slips past walls and doors, turning everyday disturbances into textures, moods, and emotional landscapes. It’s an exploration of how these subtle intrusions colour our solitude, interrupt our thoughts, and quietly become part of the soundtrack of living in close proximity to others.

About the mix:
This was recorded live and direct from the desk in Tokyo roughly two years ago.
For me, when it comes to house music, I always look back to the masters (as many do), but specifically to the radio mixes of Farley Jackmaster Funk, Timmy Regisford, and Boyd Jarvis.

The dynamic blending of freestyle, new wave, American disco, Italo, and the experimental dance tracks of that era was innovative and represented the true genesis of what dance music is: mixing different styles and making it all make sense together while completely blowing listeners’ minds.

When I play, I hope to pull fragments from this long-forgotten era and give the crowd something they may have been missing for a long time — with modern reverence and deep respect for the days of old.

A first taste of what awaits us on November 29th at Basic.

Looped guitars, drifting drones, and delicate field recordings carve a vast, meditative space — a live improvisation where intuition shapes every texture. Shadows and melody coil together, dissolving boundaries between memory, sound, and presence, carrying the listener into a quiet, introspective journey.”

Florian aka MORDIO (@mordiomusic) is a Berlin-based music producer and teacher. With years of experience in the field, he is known for his rich sound design in both groovy primal instinct techno and soft meditative texture-based ambient. Alongside his music, he shares his knowledge with the world through online tutorials and courses.

Author's note: It's evening. Guitar, TORSO S4 sampler, SOMA Cosmos pedal. Incense. Candle. Everything on my desk in front of me. I breathe. I connect. I press record. The guitar melody loops, slightly offset, until it becomes a texture placed into a space so vast it transforms into a drone. Here the journey begins. I let go of consciousness and become the medium. No control just intuition. Textures recorded throughout the year, moments from my life, atmospheres. Blended with effects and soundscapes that ease me into meditation. After an hour, I come back. It is what it is. Fully improvised. Left as is. I hope it brings you down in these stressful times.
