The first Phase Group Mix of 2021 comes to us from Frank D'Arpino, a local of Dusseldorf and resident of the Salon Des Amateurs known for his brilliant radio shows on Dublab.de. Frank has been playing music for people since the early 90s, with an open minded approach that finds harmony and evolution in mixing differing types and speeds of music together, advocating for "belief in unconventional music on the dancefloor". For us he's put together a mind-melting hour of low velocity, space age, tribal electronics and industrial level trip hop. Thanks Frank!

From in Saint-Étienne, France, the DJ and producer Jacques Satre (@jacquessatre) has been an eminent local player within a underground scene; his recent releases on Worst Records (@worst_rec), Metaphore Industrie (@metaphorecollectif) or Vernacular Records (@vernacularmusic) have unveiled his talent of producing music. The tracks of Jacques Satre display a great deal of lush, varied instrumentation, bright synth arrangements and hypnotic rhythms – all this is also evident in his dynamic DJ sets.

"After reaching the meander they parked the canoe. The sign indicated they were close, the teepee was next to the wisp of smoke that jutted out behind the ceiba tree. They moved closer, the shaman had been waiting for them for a long time. 1h. Bitterness and sweat. Waiting for the Phase change. The sound of the mosquitoes, the embers and the wind have turned into acid pulsations. Hypnotised by an imaginary wave of vibrations inside their head. Dancing in circles, the flame moves now as downtempo."

MR TC (@mrtcmusic) and Lo Kindre (@lokindre) are electronic music producers from Glasgow. They have released music individually on labels like Optimo Music (@optimo-music), 12th isle (@12th-isle)and Against Fascism Trax and together on Neubau (@neubauwien) and their own Phase Group (@phasegroup) label. They founded Phase Group records with the release of their collaborative EP ‘PHASE001’ and since then the label has become a home for leftfield electronic music by artists like Andria (@androan97) and Carcass Identity. The label has gathered wide ranging support from record stores and DJs across Europe and with a busy release schedule lined up in 2021 the future of the imprint is looking exciting.
