Adam, who now resides in London, has already released his debut album on techno/ambient imprint Kizen records and has several new projects in the pipeline. This includes starting a new Label 'Captured Visions' with some close friends. In the meantime, dive deep into his mix for 9128 filled with various styles of deep & ambient electronic music. Enjoy!

This August, it has been two years since launching the first iteration of the 9128.live 24/7 streaming site + app. 

We didn’t know back then, that the additional live weekend takeovers would be such an escape for us all during the lockdowns and a way to connect, keep a small community together and discover even more new music. But they ended up becoming some of our fondest memories over the past two years. So we’ll be celebrating this milestone with another marathon takeover on August 20th. 

Stay locked in on web, or app, and load up on sleep; the weekend lineup will take us back-to-back over 70hrs, with ambient, experimental, synth and deep techno, DJ, Live and Hybrid sets, curated by good friends and label partners of 9128.live, who have been with us since the beginning.

Barefoot is based in South West England and has had recent releases on Kizen Records and re:st. His next project, a collaboration EP with The Vision Reels, is set to be released on their new imprint, Captured Visions. His 9128 mix is a journey through ambient and lo-fi styles, featuring unreleased music from himself and other artists in this community.

"I have always been in favour of long journeys, of drawing little by little, with patience and care. A journey of slow cadence and evolution, of an organic and minimal context. A tale of depth and beauty, a turning point and surprise.
I am walking through a laurel forest. The smell of damp earth is intense but pleasant and occasionally toads croak. I am slowly integrating myself into the landscape."

Utopian (@utopian_dj) is the moniker under which the artist from Jaén, Isidro Bolivar hides. His particular style, deep, tribal and atmospheric, is closer to the concept of listening than to the dance floor. The layers of natural, organic sounds and the surrounding hypnotic atmospheres are the common denominator in his sessions. Apart from being a Dj, Isidro was an active promoter while living in Madrid (he currently lives in Granada). Confessed digger and record collector and currently experimenting with music in the studio. He also recently created a space for local artists to express themselves by performing through ambient and immersive techno streaming sessions, his name is "espacio ingrávido".

Observatory 025 - Sungate [with Uanamani & Hakk]

Adam Arthur lives in rural Arkansas where he records with his massive Buchla modular on his Funktion One system. We’ve never met anyone just like him, we first met him on the floor at No Way Back, then he came to our debut at Berghain in 2014. It grew to playing for him in Memphis and people like Larry Heard and Chad White showing up to the party. IT released a record from Adam last year, and he participated in the NWB stream, this is a recording of that set. That went so well that we’ve asked him to join us this year in the Outer Space Room at No Way Back as we return to physical reality at The Tangent, as part of Return to the Source 2022. 

In his own words:

“I was in shock and disbelief when asked to perform in the Outer Space room for No Way Back. I am so grateful to the IT team for giving me the opportunity to traverse this sonic realm where I feel most at home. 

My objective in the studio is always to create an immersive atmosphere or environment in which to lose my sense of self. This approach only became clear to me after I discovered the Buchla, which I use in this episode, along with a few other analog instruments. Every live set I create is fresh and unique for each occasion. The parts are not separate tracks, but a continuous, sonic deep-dive. 

Again, I want to thank the IT team for the amazing opportunity and trust to make this. I hope to create a new world for 2022.”

Phonons (@phonons-net) is an organization dedicated to dub, deep and hypnotic sounds. Runned by Phil Gray-Lopez and Nems-B since 2011, Phonons has been cultivating since 2011 a refined cosmic aesthetics through a small series of events in south of France and a subtly curated podcast series. 

Like us, Phil Gray-Lopez (@subrealist64) is a marine world aficionado : whale tail sculpturer and surfboard designer in the daily life, Phil is an artist at the broad sense of the term. Inspired by the roots of techno music and polyrhythmics structures, he is used to add live elements into his hybrid Dj sets. In charge of the first half of this mix (until 43’), Phil included some scientific recordings of fish communication sounds into his set. 

Second part of the podcast is the work of Nems-B (@nemsb). Acknowledged by his peers of the deep techno scene for his outstanding mixing techniques, Nahim has played in major places such as Tresor and the mighty Paral.lel Festival in Spain. As a producer, he released on Oslated, Geometrika FM and On Board Music.

For their contribution to our series, the two Phonons active members choose to explore the imaginary of the massive coral reef discovered in November 2021 off Tahiti. Nearly stretching two miles long and 200 feet wide, this is one of the most extensive healthy coral reefs on record. Found in pristine condition in the ocean's twilight zone feet below the surface - whereas coral normally needs sunlight and shallow warmth to thrive - these rose corals represent a highly unusual treasure of life. "We know the surface of the moon better than the deep ocean. Only 20% of the entire seabed has been mapped” admitted UNESCO after this discovery. Let’s discover about the soundtrack of this mysterious submarine environment could sound like.
