Changing Tides

Sometimes, the things my parents do or say make me realize that I'm not the only one getting older. It makes me scared and a bit sad.

This song is for my parents.

Older

I've always been bad at making music. Writing it, playing it, obsessing over it, that was always easy, but never making it. I've chosen this moniker as a way to give the simplistic recordings I make a proper home, starting with October Again. 

This track was written in the Autumn of 2019, and acts as a sort of quiet impression of the seasonal shift. I hope any who listens can find some enjoyment in it.

After the initial panic, some sort of calm set in, after I was diagnosed with Mononucleosis, just before I was set to start my student teaching; I woke up remembering this dream and the song that came with it.

I got it from a dream, it just came to me 
I woke up singing about the strange idea that I had seen  
I said what if it’s true, oh God it feels so true 
I heard him say I could get away to remember who I am  

Dr. Einstein said use your head 
All you need is a little more sleep and my theory 
Dr. Einstein said get back into bed 
You can travel in time with your dreaming mind and relativity  

As I lay in bed, space and time in my head
I stretched my mind to understand what he had said  
You are everywhere, and you’ll always be 
Your soul can travel when you sleep yourself into infinity
