We are based around the North West Coast of the UK, near Liverpool. We like to experiment with different styles, so if you get to one of our live shows expect to hear Funk, Hip Hop, Blues & Jazz influences in our music for a start!!! Handbrake Shirley is Wayne Scurrah, Joe Leaper, Pete Ross and Dan England; a 4 piece disco folk party machine: a twelve string guitar, a dancefloor bass, twinkling lead guitar and inventive, thumping drums with sprinklings of northern late night poetry. Our first demo E.P, "Live at the Turtle Farm", can be heard on our profile It was recorded in Yarrow in the Scottish borders in February 2013. Mike Fearon was behind the desk and on mixing duty- capturing live performances in the studio then giving them a good courtesy wipe.
