Infinite Tracks - F That MF

After sprouting with a trip to the Amazon on the Full Flower Moon, the Future Sound Of Nature spreads more branches with, Soul Clap’s EcoSystems Mixtape on the Summer Solstice. The veteran DJs have a long history of conceptual mixes (DJ Kicks, fabric, RA, watergate) and have spent over a decade supporting climate action in the music industry. The extended mix brings nature in as a musical collaborator by collaging field recordings, sound habitats and nature songs (content, title or lyrics). Spread over four musical habitats, each intertwined by field recordings and original ambient interludes, EcoSystemS is a unique take on nature music–weaving together a diverse range of electronic genres, for the body, mind and spirit–to align the nervous system as only nature can.

Fueled by the fire of the sun, the first habitat brings house music energy into the Ecosystem, fueling photosynthesis and building up plant tissue. Then, as a quiet storm descends, the second habitat (23:10) is bathed in the depth of the water cycle. This habitat is home to animals like birds and insects that play an important role in the movement of matter and energy through the system, feeding on plants and on one another. Breaking down dead organic matter, the third habitat (41:16) decomposes into a mystical musical moment of rebirth. While the final habitat  (1:13:41) journeys through the jungle to complete the cycle, releasing carbon back to the atmosphere and facilitating nutrient cycling by converting nutrients stored in dead biomass back to a form that can be readily used by plants and microbes.

Myself and Andrea Piacentini, we are two shadows etched deep into the city’s underground nights, and we return to the ritual: 2 x turntables, a crate of wax and the quiet defiance of not giving everything away. 

No algorithm, no easy Shazam. Only ears, only hearts, only the dancefloor.

In a world where every song is named before it even ends, there’s rebellion in anonymity.

The needle drops and you don’t know — you just feel. A bassline pulled from some forgotten pressing, a hi-hat that breathes dust, a vocal ghosting through the room.

These are records that live outside playlists, out of reach of search bars. They exist only in that moment, in that booth, under our hands.

It’s not nostalgia. It’s devotion. 

Records force you to listen. 
To care for it, to know its imperfections.

We aren’t just playing tracks, we are speaking in an old language few still remember. 

Every mix is unrepeatable, every transition a secret shared with those who showed up, who stayed late, who paid attention.

This isn’t music to be owned; it’s music to be witnessed.
