The producer and DJ is best known as the head of iconic dance music label, @get-physical-music and during his time at the Berlin imprint he’s grown the label to become a leading institution in house music. But it’s Leesker’s own love and passion for house that’s the driving force behind his work, from debuting on the Frankfurt club scene in 1989, to working with icons such as Laurent Garnier and Ricardo Villalobos, to learning the ropes of the music business in order to support rising talent. About to release his new single 'The Demon At Rashomon', we sat down with Leesker to chat about his journey with Get Physical, and what we can expect from him and the label next.

Aurora – Hypnotic Deep Trance Journey

Aurora ist ein tiefgehendes, atmosphärisches Trance-Album, das die Zuhörer:innen auf eine hypnotische Reise durch pulsierende Basslines, fließende Arpeggios und sphärische Soundlandschaften mitnimmt. Jeder Track baut behutsam Spannung auf, verschmilzt treibende Rhythmen mit melancholisch-melodischen Synth-Layern und entfaltet eine tranceartige Wirkung, die sowohl für nächtliche Clubsets als auch für introspektives Hören geschaffen ist. Inspiriert von den Farben und Bewegungen des Nordlichts, reflektiert Aurora den Zauber eines kosmischen Tanzes – emotional, treibend und zeitlos.

I recorded this in 2017 and 2018 using only a Teenage Engineering OP-1 and its internal tape recorder and never shared it. I recorded mainly during travel and channeled a rough year into it. Looking back it isn't very good but considering the workflow of the OP-1... well here it is, for posterity.
