After a long hiatus Shir Khan hits us with the 14th edition featuring Onsra & Bas Roos. Secret Parisian project Onsra returns after killing it with "Funky Town" last year. First he gets down on the terrace with the loopy banger of "So Good". A 112BPM disco house number which has a touch of that old Soundstream magic about it yet is instantly, undeniably a Shir Khan favourite. When those string-led bridge sections burst into life you should see the whole terrace unite under some Vitamin D-laced pleasure. "Other Day" packs a bit more umph with tough boogie licks looped and chopped for more funky dancefloor goodness. Bas Roos takes over the flip and is a newbie youngster from Rotterdam with a fresh residency at Toffler Club keeping things bright, smooth and wide-eyed with "Searchin" and "Don’t Let Go The Disco". Both tracks epitomizing the feel-good spirit of classic funky house whilst still keeping the modern day nu-disco crowd happy. Shir Khan rides forth! Vinyl only, limited run. Move quick!

Since 2011, dutch duo Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets​ have been releasing Grade-A bangers as Detroit Swindle. After a summer of top-notch festival and club sets, they've decided to bring Autumn in with yet another set of screamers.
The ​Circular City​ EP sees them return to their own Heist Recordings label for a batch of silky-smooth house tracks that are sure to set any half-decent dancefloor alight. Oh, and they've got the legendary Matthew Herbert to slide by with a subtly sensational remix too, which we're bringing you exclusively here on THUMP right now. 

​It stutters, stammers and shimmers, coming on like a 2016-friendly take on the classic microhouse sound that even Herbert himself was deploying to stunning effect in the early part of the last decade. Riding along on a bassline that sounds ​a ​bit​ like Pacman for nearly seven minutes, this one's got zoned-out-at-an-afterparty classic stamped all over it.

"Their debut 2020 release sees them deliver another great EP of deep and distinct house grooves built around some choice samples and classic drums and pads. The lead track 'Confessing' is built around an old soul acapella that really raises the track head and shoulders over its peers. On the flip 'C'mon (start moving)' again plays with some classy samples, but in a more subtle fashion, arranging them around some slinky synth melodies and some slick old skool drums."

Analog Italian House maestro Deep88 has contributed a straight up deep house belter for Soul Clap Records 'Italo Funk' compilation. The choice cut for us here, the production on this track is so warm it's silly. Combine the classic Latley Bass patch & the gritty SP1200 drum machine alongside some heavenly pads and FM melodies and you have a recipe for perfection really.
