When I first discovered Donato Dozzy’s early records around 2006, I was immediately captured by the warm and hypnotic feel of his music. From that moment on, I’ve been a big fan of Dozzy’s work, over the years, collecting more and more of his music - from the solo projects and remixes to his well-known collaborations with other great artists. At some point the idea occurred to me: why not paying homage to this great artist in form of a tribute mix? It took me quite a while to bring the idea into reality, but now here it is. During the process of selecting the tracks for the mix, I got the feeling I wanted to create something more geared toward home listening or a walk around the city with headphones. For this reason, I slowed things down a bit and kept the whole mix under 120 bpm.

Phonatic - Dozzy Dives Under 120

Joining us this month is one of the most consistent producers around at the moment. In the past six years Alex has been releasing exciting material through local Stockholm labels such as Abdulla Rashim's Northern Electronics, Bossmuik, and Aniara Records which put out his first record back in 2010. Aniara Records is also responsible for putting out the majority of his output as one half of Genius Of Time, the irresistible DJ/Live act he formed with his good friend Nils Krogh but the duo's punchy releases also found a home on Clone's Royal Oak and Gerd Janson's Running Back. The past two years have seen him focusing primarily on his solo output as Dorisburg and his most ambitious project to date arrived earlier this year on John Talobot's Hivern Discs in the form of the Irrbloss LP.

Today he's prepared a very special mix of mysterious and rare hypnotic House cuts which he recorded straight to cassette through a studio console and analogue outboard. He told us the mix is for "late night internet exploring...something to get lost within while browsing the unknown corners of the web... or possibly what a rave could sound like on an abandoned space station". For the 39th entry of the Honcho Podcast Series we welcome Stockholm's Dorisburg! Fresh off of an incredible DJ set at last month's Honcho, Alex has supplied us with a lush studio recording of his live show.  None of his sets from his recent tour were recorded, so he wanted to document this moment of time before moving on to new things. This set is mix of old tracks, new material, and a little bit of magic that just happened in the moment. Enjoy!

Orion are no strangers to Delayed and this mix continues their hot streak of amazing releases and mixes. Having just released their incredible “Look At Things” EP on Molly’s Recit de Voyage, they have just blessed us with a mix. Whether on their Orion imprint or Molly’s RDV, one has grown to expect nothing short of spectacular when it comes to Orion’s output, and this mix is no exception.
The Italian duo delivers an hour of their own productions, starting out slow, slowly building up and working through a trip of ambient house and dub techno, eventually closing with a Burial-esque tune.
We’re delighted to regularly feature the Bolognese producers, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.
