Introduce yourself? Pronouns? Where do you currently reside? 

Hello, I'm a producer and DJ going by the name of Ciel. My real name is Cindy, my pronouns are she/her, and I'm based in Toronto, Canada.

How do you deal with being nervous before a gig? 

Try not think about it :) It doesn't always work, but i find it happens from time to time if I'm really exhausted from not sleeping on tour and my brain has naturally shut off. If I can't stop thinking about it, I will try to select the first track from my vinyl bag and have a vague sense of what Rekordbox playlists I plan to play from. I ad-hoc all my sets because I love picking tracks in response to the audience's energy, but sometimes that is a lot more stressful for me and I find myself doom scrolling the USB. Devising a strategy, even if I end up not following it, does a lot to soothe my anxiety. 

Where do you see yourself musically in 2044?

I don't know what the future holds but I hope to be a full time composer of film and TV scores when I'm in my 50s and no longer want to tour constantly.

If you could have anything on your rider… What would you choose?

An indica-sativa hybrid joint (no tobacco), nice bottle of orange wine, German flat peaches, and a bathroom in the booth (anything is possible, right?)

What would you like to see in the future for the dance community?

Less celebrity worship, less influencer culture, less fame & money-chasing, more focus on behind-the-scenes folks (whether DJs or producers or labels) who foster community and tirelessly build their local scenes.

Advice for the DJs, producers and artists of our community:
I'd love to see even more kindness, excitement over other people's success and sharing resources among peers. Participation in nightlife stands in inseparable relation to class oppression, gender and race relations. Work on collectivizing the means of musical production, knowledge and status. Working in nightlife can be challenging. So make sure to work out regularly, drink enough water, take breaks and be mindful.

Katerina is a Finnish Bulgarian artist who is the founder of labels Émotsiya and Kotarak, releasing music from the likes of Sansibar and Exploited Body. Earlier this summer, Katerina released her debut EP for the esteemed Running Back which the label files under "singer-songwriter house, outsider or campfire dance".  Showing the evolution of who Katerina is an artist, the EP followed on from records on Cómeme, Hivern Discs, Tigersushi and Rhythm Section.

A staple within the Helsinki club scene, Katerina has helped build the profile of local institutions such as Kaiku and Flow Festival through her global recognition which has led to gigs in Paris, Berlin, Ibiza and more.

Honest Allies nace entre las ciudades de Madrid y Ciudad de México, como un colectivo de alianzas artísticas, en su modalidad de eventos de arte relacional, antes programa de radio y ahora tambien canal de Soundcloud, con la intención de converger, dar voz y representación a artistas, selectores y a personas de nuestra comunidad y espacios cercanos, divergiendo entre narrativas, géneros y estilos, como formas de expresión artística y alteridad. 

Los Fundadores del colectivo, lo componen y residen @Lebollet, @Rootian y @FuentesGuerra.

- Fuentes-Guerra es director de fotografía y amante de la música con presencia como DJ en diversos clubes de la ciudad de Madrid y su residencia "PRESENTE" en @radio-relativa. 

- Lebollet es fotógrafo, diseñador, Productor, Promotor y DJ residente de @BallestaClub, también en Madrid. 

- Rootian, radica en la Ciudad de Mexico (CDMX), es Psicólogo clínico, Promotor de los eventos de arte relacional y takeovers de Honest allies en la capital mexicana y DJ residente del club queer @sic-community-club.

Los tres son grandes amigos de larga distancia procedentes de Córdoba, Andalucía, en el sur de España.
