Barcelona’s Pau Roca is back with his 2nd release on LA label Pleasure of Love, an EP of cool-hazy balearic house with equal parts sunrise and sunset energy. Roca is a standout in the Barcelona DJ scene, and with his party Libido and labels Escola and Bons Records, he’s established himself as a premiere record collector/DJ and a producer.  


EUPHORIA includes 3 original cuts and a remix from the house legend, Pal Joey.

About one year after our Vol. 2, clubs and dancing bars were closed again in France. This sad news made us decide to launch again our Edits series, slightly renaming it “Paradise edits”. Fortunately, the good contacts we made through the last year helped us pulling together this new compilation quite fast. First, we had the Brooklyn duo Fundido, part of Earth Beat crew, with whom we had been chatting for quite a while and talked many times about having an edit from then. Then, we asked Sputnik, a DJ from Moscow to join, as we were enchanted by his work for That’s A Steal and his release on Gop Tun records earlier this year. A few days later, Nicolas Kotowicz, another Russian artist, contacted us to share his edit and we thought he would be a perfect addition to the comp. Finally, Latane introduced us to Lloyd with a bunch of edits and we were very keen to include him too.
Here’s the result of their works and a few questions we asked them about their stories and their approach to edits.

After a long break of extensive procrastination and studio gear acquisitions, Lovebirds returns with ‘Just Music & Me’. Made some fifteen years ago in his Hamburg studio at the height of his early production period, it was forgotten on the hard drive until his best mate, SIRS (Daniel Klein) began playing it again, and people started asking “what is that?”.

The title cut is a synth heavy, disco, boogie, house joint that’s understated fun at its very best. ‘Straightfromtheheart’, is a mid-tempo 80’s Italo boogie vibe with lashings of luscious arpeggios, and a vocoder hook that drops in the last breakdown for maximum spinal chills. Closing out the EP is ‘For Anna (Onward Journey)’. Dedicated to the late girlfriend of a close friend, born out of random melody sung into an iPhone while taking a walk, the resulting effort is a love drizzled Patrick Adam-esque slow disco healer. With wet delays, catchy lead synths and huge breakdowns, this killer cut works on discerning dancefloors and private after hours alike.
