In the wake of Ninety's massive 'Cave Runner' EP, Dread Or Dead Records look to continue their 2021 takeover with an immediate return, presenting Duckem's latest project, 'Spinal's Army' EP. Duckem has consistently made moves for a while now, surfing through the deep sounds of wave to energetic grime and, as demonstrated today, the dark dungeons of 140. Glasgow based Kami-O is one of a few new producers I've really been excited about over the last few months! And beginning this personal sub-continental journey is the immense 'Jayanta', today's premiere.

The latest premiere to land on Honey & Bass allows us to indulge in something that hasn't occurred for a while - a first time feature on the blog for both record label and artist! Bristol's Spektiv makes a return to Transparent Audio with 'Pressure' EP this week, albeit in a different form compared to what the drum & bass specialists have become accustomed to. Experimenting at a different tempo, Spektiv produces three 'Honey & Bass friendly' tunes by bringing his big sounds to the 140 spectrum. He also takes the expertise of NoSine onboard for a killer collab and today's premiere, 'Empty Club.

I think it's safe to say that Substrada's consistent work over the last couple of years hasn't gone unnoticed. As the only record of it's kind to come from FatKidOnFire this year, Substrada not only demonstrates his distinctive sound, but also joins up with two similarly talented producers, 11th Hour and Kusmo. Moving from a sole focus on physical vinyl releases, IFS's digital exclusive series has brought a slew of new names to the roster including Khanum, Mungk, Substrada and most recently, Mythm, Oxossi and Kodama. And with two years of these regular releases under their belt, we're treated to an album version, 'Future Forms', where these familiar names and even more roster debutants come together to contribute some of their finest cuts! The Honey & Bass Sessions finally returns! 

I'm not going to even state how long it's been (far too long), but the guest mix series is hopefully here to stay. Getting things back into gear is long time follower of the blog and dubstep aficionado, Reap_Eat. The Cali based selector has been doing his own thing to express his passion for the genre with a highly underrated mix series of his own, laying out some of the best dubstep has to offer and, like todays series, offers hidden gems that you may have been unaware of previously. 
Reap_Eat demonstrates impeccable taste throughout this hour of the freshest 140 flavours, including music from the genre's current heavyweights like @causa, @ternionsound and @thekercha.

LDH Records have quickly become one of those no nonsense labels that we can all rely on and expect to bring the heat upon each release. Whether its's a limited vinyl project, a digital exclusive or like today, a heavyweight collaborative project that stretches across the globe, LDH is the place to be if you're a fully signed up dubstep fan in 2023. Alabama's SerpentEyes joins the LDH crew this week and brings some of that dirty southern 140 to the label alongside international friends, Morning High and Legend4ry. It's a triple threat that includes some very distinct flavours, none more so than today's premiere 'Tunnels'.

Birmingham's Delta continues to make a notable rise within the scene this year and his best yet lands on Too Much Collective! Following releases from 7Kidz and Joe Big in recent months, Delta's 'Final Judgement' EP is another heavy hitting collection of tracks to feature on the Bristol imprint. It's a four track exploration of his dark and atmospheric sound which hits it's darkest depths during today's premiere, 'Shipwreck'.

We return this week with a short but intriguing project once again from the boys in Belgium. For their latest project, growing label Bassin Records welcomes back who you will previously know as Gullivr, but in a new form that goes by the name of Ensarr. His latest moniker's debut, 'Transit' EP, delivers three tempo-travelling tracks that expresses Ensarr's desire to reach right across the spectrum from 140 upwards. With two tracks topping out at 176bpm, I've of course gone for 'Moon' for today's premiere, the sole 140 heater!

Whether it's drum & bass or any form of dubstep, Norman Foreman have remained open minded and all encompassing since it's inception in 2021. However for their next project, the New Zealand label sets it's sights on the roster's 140 capabilities by producing a short compilation, consisting of four huge tracks by four emerging NZ talents. Bristol based label Locus Sound have certainly put a shift in since launching in 2017. Throughout their eleven releases, they haven't been scared to put some fairly unknown figures into the spotlight, giving them a chance to unveil their fresh, innovative sounds to the world and in turn, becoming one of the most freshest, forward-thinking labels about. From fiery digital EPs by Ceramics (LOCUS006), Sedan (LOCUS009) and particularly Ourman (LOCUS008) who's since made some serious moves, Locus Sound most recently made their way to a first vinyl release where SBK had the honour of displaying his original material on 'Kingdom Of Sobek' (LOCUSV001). And now, the label rounds off the year with their first compilation LP, featuring ten original tracks and a solid group of fresh faces as well as a couple more familiar to the label.
Today we have the pleasure of showcasing SBK's offering, where he returns to the label in style with the ice cold sounds of 'Naiads'.

So it's fine timing as trailblazing LA label For The Heads comes through this week with a stacked fifteen track compilation. From the USA, through Europe and all the way to the shores of Australia, FTH have reached out far and wide to curate a heavyweight record dedicated to the sound system. We've got Sedan's contribution 'Current' to premiere today, one of the moodier cuts on the record and something that's very suited to my 'current' (sorry) personal taste.

I'm so stoked to see Woven Thorns finally dropping some of her most anticipated tracks. Marking a year since a change of alias, enjoying a fresh start, she lands on the remarkably consistent Locus Sound. I don't know what it is with these guys, almost every producer I discover, every producer that anchors themselves into my regular rotations, they always seem to snap them up for a killer EP. Lets just say we both have exquisite taste! For LOCUS014, Woven Thorns delivers a trio of devilish, horror-led tunes. A soundtrack to your nightmares some might say, including today's premiere, 'Divine Violence'.

Straight outta Pula, Croatia, Proove has made a point of announcing himself as one of the new names to watch out for this year. His unreleased cuts and Soundcloud uploads have been impressive over recent months and hasn't gone unnoticed by Liverpool based LDH Records, who themselves are having a great 2020! Having only kicked things off in May, they've already picked up fresh material from new rising talents such as Mani and most impressively, a hefty vinyl exclusive from man on form, Teffa. For LDH005, Proove is the latest to land on the growing label with three tracks of his own brand of sub-focused music including the latest Honey & Bass premiere, 'Leaking'.

Sub Garden's admirable consistency continues this week with a Halloween treat and debut from Croydon's Nightmare. As one half of Dubstep duo NMO, Nightmare announces himself as a solo producer to be reckoned with, unleashing two giant tracks of his own including today's premiere, 'The ID'. With this latest instalment, Sub Garden remains the perfect example of a platform dedicated to showcasing under-the-radar talent, to the point where I've lost count of the amount of music I've discovered courtesy of these guys and SGDN031 is yet another to add to the ever-growing collection!

It was only as the cold dark nights of October were drawing in when Basskruit, the latest project by Pieter Grauwels of DUPLOC and Hebbe, launched with BBSKRT001 and already they find themselves in contention as one of the best new labels of 2020 ahead of a third release next week. Featuring on BSSKRT003, Brussels based Datra steps up with his breakthrough project, returning to the label after a hefty remix of Cubiqle's 'Duna' last month. 'Honton' EP is a four track collection of diverse, bass driven material from the talented Belgian, full of charisma and ingenuity, including today's premiere, the turbid darkness of 'Two Worlds'.

Amidst a year seemingly dominated by bad news, the pioneering Deep Dark & Dangerous have made it their mission to guide us through the turbulence, showing what can be done to avert our attention, for just a moment, away from the gloom that can so easily infest ones mind. From a schedule of cutting-edge releases more consistent than ever, to the trail blazing 'Quarantine Sessions' and the successful launch of a Bandcamp subscription service, the DDD gang can be proud of their innovative work and their shining light that persistently beams over the entire genre. But their work isn't done yet, 'tis the season of giving after all. For our final premiere of 2020 it's with great pleasure to present a track from the label's annual Christmas album, as always packed to the rafters with exclusive, larger than life remixes. And this isn't just any remix, this is Cartridge's monumental 'Show Dem' remix, originally by label heads, Truth. After listening to the 'Lost In Rave' EP last year by Leo Cap, the 140 alias of DnB heavyweight Black Barrel, I knew it was just the beginning of his venture into Dubstep and that he was sitting on some huge tunes, but not this huge! It's no surprise to see a label with the pedigree that Deep Dark & Dangerous has to recognise Leo Cap's impressive sound with such enthusiasm. Faced with what I can only assume was an entire catalogue's worth of irresistible heat, DDD were unable to restrain themselves, deviating from the usual schedule of four track releases and instead, decide to showcase six of the Russian's monster 140 tunes including today's premiere, the EP's title track, 'Let Me Tell You Something'.
