Dedicated to enriching the musical life of Asia and beyond, The Hong Kong Brass Quintet gave its inaugural concert at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in the spring of 2013. The group is made up of all Principal Brass Players of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

From jazz, Dixieland, Broadway, 20th century classics to the most demanding contemporary standards of the brass quintet repertoire the HKBQ play all styles of music.

Members of the HKBQ have performed with many of the world’s finest ensembles including the New York and Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestras, and Boston and San Francisco Symphony Orchestras.

Individually they have held positions with the Saint Louis, Colorado, and Baltimore Symphonies, and Malaysia and Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestras.

All members are active as international soloists and educators, frequently giving recitals and master classes, and soloing with orchestras, wind ensembles, brass bands, and chamber groups.
