Biography
"HOOK'EM" real name Charles Michael Ambers-Christian was born in Taunton Mass on August 8th 1985. His father Charles Starr was apart of his life but his mother Michelle Ambers was a single parent who struggled with money and a drug addiction to crack cocaine. With four brothers, due to his mother’s addiction it cost the loss of (HOOK’EM), and three of his other brothers to be taken by the state an...d put in the custody of D.S.S. (HOOK’EM) is the second oldest of four other brothers. One out of five of his brothers was not taken and got to stay with his mother. At the age of four years old (HOOK'EM) was put in a foster home where he was physically and mentally abused. When D.S.S notice signs of the abuse they immediately removed him from that house and placed him in a group home until they could find another home for him. At the age of five he was placed in a foster home taken in by a woman by the name of Joanna Christian who had over a 100 foster kids in and out of her home.With only 10 foster kids at the time and two of her grandsons that she was taking care of. A floor for the boys and a floor for the girls in a mansion with the freedom to play and the love he received from her, he knew this was where he wanted to stay. From the mansion his adopted mother later moved to a house where she kept one other foster kid other than himself, and her two grandsons. At the age of seven she asked him if he wanted to go to another home or stay there with her? With his mind made up from the first time he walked through her doors he told her he wanted to stay. At the age of seven years old he was adopted and considered family just as much as her own grandchildren. In school (HOOK'EM) could have done better. he got average grades and was easily distracted by girls and the crowd he hung out with. He was always into all kinds of music but loved and was influenced by Hip-Hop the most. His adopted mother made sure he played sports. From basketball to tennis he played them all but was best at baseball. In baseball for 7yrs straight he made the all-stars and was one of the best in his division. From the abuse suffered in his last foster home and the feeling of abandonment from his biological mother he dealt with anger problems, which led to him getting in aot of fights. Due to a car crash his involving his adopted mother that crushed her legs and forced her to learn how to walk again, they moved from a house to an apartment in the rougher parts of Haverhill massachusetts due to money problems because she couldn’t work like she use to. With the reputation of a tough kid in school, before long he and his freinds later began making up gangs and fighting in the streets. He began experimenting with alcohol and drugs. Growing up he dealt with racism, and the fact that he was the only black person in a family that were all white. Which caused more fights, anger, and rage. By his teenage years he was having run ins with the law that lead to him being committed to D.Y.S till the age of 18 yrs old and was in and out of juvenile facilities, sports was no longer in the picture or in his future. Every time he was arrested it was for a violent crime. With a tough reputation and one of the leaders to one of the most violent and active gangs to come out of Haverhill by the name of the (L.O.R.D.Z) he was later arrested, locked up, and indicted to D.Y.S till the age of 21 yrs old for jumping a member of the L.O.R.D.Z they were terminating while being recorded on video tape by a friend of the gang. The next day the tape was brought to the school they attended (Haverhill High) and was confiscated by a cop that worked at the school. At the age of 16 yrs old (HOOK'EM) received 2yrs in D.Y.S secure treatment program and 2 1/2 yrs suspended adult time n the essex county jail. During his 2 yrs in a secure treatment program he worked on his anger, his past, and learned more about himself and who he was. Before his released he got his G.E.D and prepared for college. After doing his time at the age of 18 he attended his first classes of business management during the summer at Northern Essex Community College. He later attended his first semester with his childhood friend and music partner today (YOUNG CHRIGGA). Passing and finishing his first semester while still hanging out with his gang in the streets he chose to take a break from school and be more involved with his life in the streets. Weeks later on March 9th 2005 he was shot twice. Once in the side of his ribs that went in the front and made its exit from the side of his abdomen he was shot once more the bullet hit and broke his collarbone. Because he was 18 and still in the custody of D.Y.S until the age of 21. he was locked up because they felt it would be best for his safety. They later placed him in an open program in Worcester Mass where he was able to work. He later ended up going on the run from the program because the state was trying to get him to testify against the person who shot him. The case was later dismissed against the shooter. While on the run (HOOK'EM) picked up new charges and was indicted as an adult for intent to murder. He along with his co defendant was sentenced to 5 yrs (2 1/2) on and after in Middleton Essex County jail. While incarcerated (HOOK'EM) built up a stronger reputation for fighting and was known all through the jail. He later joined a Nation and for his reputation for fighting and being real to his Nation and everyone around him. He became a leader and positioned first and head on whatever block he was put on. Although in a Nation. He rides for who ever rides for him. After doing a total of 44 months due to good time, (HOOK’EM) finished his time and now has a three yr old son by the name of Izaiah Shaheed Ambers-Christian and a family that he provides for by any means necessary and is focused on making music which every song and every verse he shares a little of his life story, the things he's seen, and been through. He doesn't do it for the fame. He does it for the love of all music but especially for the love of the genre he has loved since his childhood....HIPHOP!
