Dave has been active in the
Singapore music circuit for more than two decades, starting out banging off indie
rock tunes in an abandoned container with his mates. He went on to form one of
the country’s most successful rock bands to date – Electrico -Garnering
numerous accolades including 2 nominations for favourite artiste Singapore at
the MTV Asia Awards, Two no.1 singles and 3 best selling Albums to date, with a
remix of one their singles “Love in new wave” by Singapore’s leading house
musso DJ Aldrin, being championed by Pete Tong in his BBC Essential mix show.
&nbsp;In
the midst of a hiatus from the band in 1999, Dave continued to indulge his
passion for music by turning to turntables under the moniker DJ Hook. His love
for the eclectic sound quickly earned him a residencies at discerning venues across the country. His eclectic blend of House, funk, soul, Disco, hip hop, rare groove and Rock, luring the likes of promoters and clubs from Hong Kong to Dubai.
Since then he has rocked the
dance floors of every major club in Singapore and across the region, also Kicking off the “We Love
house” nights at the legendary Zouk club. He has since shared the console with
the likes of Todd Terje, Christian Prommer, Lovebirds, Alex from
Tokyo and Andy Fletcher (Depeche Mode) to name a few, and rocked exclusive parties for Guess?, Christian Dior ,
G-Star and Mercedes Benz and Porsche…its no surprise Dave has become one of the
most sought after DJs for private parties of the elite.
Dave is a founding member of the
infamous party rocking STASSH collective, with DJ KFC and Vinny Q (HK). Which
has also taken its brand of block party vibes across the region including the
Gilles Peterson Worldwide festival in 2008 spreading the love with Garfld,
Simbad, Toshio Matsura, Gilles Peterson, Karizma, Cut Chemist and Kruder &amp;
Dorfmeister. Hookstyle & KFC featured once again in the 2009 Worldwide
Festival in Singapore.
