Hünter is a Seattle-based artist who specializes in leftfield electronic music, tapping heavily into subgenres like UK Bass, IDM, ambient, and broken-beat techno. He was raised on a sailboat in industrial Ballard and spent much of his weekends as a child on the outskirts of Vancouver, BC. This upbringing greatly inspired his style of music, as he intertwines atmospheric, emotional, and warm sounds with harsher rhythms and beat structures. While his DJ history dates over 10 years, as of late he is a resident of Routine Seattle and he also hosts the radio show ‘Wërda’ on Bristol's online radio platform NOODS. In addition to his busy DJ schedule, Hünter released the full-length album Cypress back in October on the fledgling Seattle-based label Ommaya Records.

His exclusive guest DJ mix is an immersive deep dive into cerebral club rhythms that showcases his sharp ears, his seamless mixing, and his recent shift towards the more percussive and euphoric elements of UK Bass.

I had the opportunity to open the DJ portion of Research’s 10 Year Anniversary, a huge honor and challenge with Ayesha and a Special Guest following — two incredible producers and DJs. My aim going into the night was to move through my experimental bass realm before shifting into more rhythmic territory to warm up the dance floor.
