It's been a while since Romboy dropped some new solo material but now he returns to his Systematic Recordings imprint for the fiery and chunky 'Elgur/Nasa' EP. 

With early support coming from Davide Squillace, James Zabiela, Laurent Garnier and Joris Voorn, it's clear to see the worldwide appeal that the German holds.

We have the first spin of A-side 'Elgur' and once again Romboy has presented a roller that acts as a workout as much as it does a piece of music. 

Thick basslines, a dark and heavy bass undercurrent and the sort of menacing drive you'd expect if Freddie Krueger was behind the wheel of a Ferrari. This is massive, glorious techno at it's best.

A masterpiece for the peak time dancefloor ‘Still Lemonade’ sees melodic and emotive synth lines flow over rolling percussions with a powerful breakdown and build destined to make the crowd erupt. Over on the flip Redshape adds a grumble in the bassline, playing with the track for an intricate and subtle build but keeping in line with the original it soon progresses into a high intensity dance floor bomb.

It's hard to believe that it will be exactly two years ago since we launched our beloved label. It really has flown by in the blink of an eye. And so, to mark the occasion of 24 successful months in business, we bring you release number 24. You could call it OCD behaviour but we like to think of it as symmetry ;-)

Step forward Mr Jaap Ligthart, a Dutchman who has been on our radar for some time now with a number of fantastic edits and reworkings but is now making the natural transition into original productions. Together with Ms. Alice Rose, a vocalist who's pass credits include guesting on tracks for the likes of Gabriel Ananda and Eagles & Butterflies, they've created something rather special. 

‘I Know Change’ is a sensuous piece of work. Deep House in the very real sense of the phrase. 
And that is something that our remixers on this project have truly understood. Both Him Self Her and Show-B have delivered exquisite interpretations that give the whole package an overriding sense of class and quality. 

Him Self Her keep things deep and moody with a restrained, atmospheric, sophisticated piece of work, whilst Show-B heads into slightly tougher territory encapsulated by some distinctive rollercoaster percussion effects that have already seen Ame, Dixon, Sasha, Mano Le Tough & Adratique showing their support. And if all that wasn’t enough, they both deliver vocal free dubs too! 

So then, just to recap, it’s hotter than Megan Fox in Agent Provocateur and cooler than a Polar Bear’s toenails. What’s not to like?

The time has come for Diynamic label boss Solomun to serve up another EP carrying his signature sound. 

This latest one is called Zora, features three new tracks (which are all titled with Serbo-Croat words) and is sure to become another massive hit for him this summer. Of course, the Croatian tastemaker has recently set out for another busy schedule of his own headline events at Pacha and Destino as well as many other places around Europe during the hottest months of the year. 

On the flip you will find ‘Fantazija', with its big rubbery kick drums and jittery percussive patterns. It’s full of slow release tension, skewed bass and trippy synths that all work to hypnotise listeners as they ride up and down the scale.

Clearly determined to pick up where volume 1 left off, Toolroom are again on hand to provide you with a recap of the White Isle’s hottest summer’s anthems with another compilation that’ll quickly remind you just why they’ve become such a treasured outfit within the contemporary house music domain.

Across 3 CDs, Toolroom presents over 60 tracks that have been tearing up dancefloors across Ibiza over the course of the past few months. 2015 saw Damian Lazarus create his most ambitious project to date in The Ancient Moons, producing a full length album ‘Message From The Other Side’ with a wide assortment of vocalists and collaborators from around the world. They went on to support Roisin Murphy on tour, gain acclaim from the likes of Dazed & Confused and Lazarus became the final coverstar of the year in the UK”s Mixmag magazine.

Now the tracks from ‘The Other Side’ have been reinterpreted by an assortment of stars, from techno stalwarts Juan Atkins & Kimyon Huggins, to German experimental talent Kölsch, and Acid Pauli’s sprawling fusion of weirdness. The original material is ploughed in new and surprising directions by Black Butter’s own Gorgon City and Mehmet Asian, resident at Berlin’s infamous Wilde Renate club.

Talent from Lazarus’ label Crosstown Rebels, including Francesca Lombardo, DrumTalk and Israeli trio Red Axes also produce their own visions for the music, all of which retain the mysticism of the original with added dancefloor appeal. The final four tracks revisit some of the biggest moments from the Moons to date, as the album revisits interpretations from Jamie Jones, Dixon, Serge Devant and &Me.

Co-produced by James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco, Arctic Monkeys, Florence & The Machine), The Ancient Moons was always a unique project, which has now been stretched to include the flavours of some of the most exciting artists shaping the musical landscape right now.

Recorded in Mexico, LA and London, ‘The Other Side’ features instrumentalists from Mozambique, Guinea, Pakistan, Egypt, America and even Mexico’s own Yucatan Symphony Orchestra.
