Swedish talent Per Hammar got his start around 2009 with a killer debut that laid the groundwork for his own label Dirty Hands. These days, between his chosen digs of Malmö and Berlin, his slick, dub-inflected configurations are stirring up dancefloors and carving a singular niche in the ever more crowded technosphere. 2016 saw the launch of his second label 10YEARS with Maya Lourenço (Parallax Deep) as a conduit for stripped-down, experimental fare, and De Vloer swiftly followed as an output for dubbier grooves co-produced with Amsterdam-based Malin Génie. His handcrafted beats and rare vinyl selections are meant for high impact raving, a mediation between his own vision and the spaces he plays in; something that leans into the ‘imperfect’ and ‘non-polished’, and lends a human touch to more metronomic formats. His bass-heavy Kiloton nights have proven an effective incubator for the type of raw, analogue techno he’s come to be known for, and evolved into a much broader program and cultural platform that hosts both local names and international heavyweights. For Bassiani Podcast 281, the Skåne native brings his incisive vision to the fore with a 72-minute studio mix packed with rolling grooves and shifting textures, expert techno from a dominant force on the Malmö scene.

Eutierria an omen to nature, Gister's biggest source of inspiration.

It means; "a good and positive feeling of oneness with the earth and its life forces. ‘eu’ comes from the Greek word for “good” and tierra means Earth.

Eutierria refers to secular experiences but echoes the “oceanic” feeling identified in various world religious traditions. When it occurs, your perception of the boundaries between yourself and all else, the thoughts and feelings setting you off from the rest of the cosmos, seem to evaporate. The distinction between you and nature breaks down. You become one with the universe. A reassuring sense of harmony and connection with the world infuses your consciousness. It’s an experience that matches up with the knowledge of your own dependence on and connection to the world.

In between the spaces of existence, we find the essence of becoming, a silent realm where what was no longer holds, and what will be has not yet taken shape. These spaces are neither failures of being nor empty accidents; they are the necessary breaths of existence, the intervals that make movement and transformation possible. It is in these spaces that we wrestle with uncertainty, where meaning is not given but must be made. They ask us to let go of fixed identities and rigid narratives, to sit for a moment in openness, vulnerability, and possibility. Within these spaces, the self is not a completed fact but a living question. Without these spaces, life would harden into static repetition. Growth would be impossible, as growth requires a break from what is familiar, a stepping into the unknown. The spaces between allow for reflection, for doubt, for reinvention. They are the hidden architecture behind every act of choice, every spark of creativity, every new becoming. Thus, existence is not merely a series of events strung together; it is also made of the silences between them, the invisible crossings, the quiet hesitations. In honoring the spaces of existence, we honor the fullness of life itself, not just its milestones, but its mystery.

Continuum: a coherent whole characterised as a collection, sequence, or progression of values or elements varying by minute degrees.

The timing couldn't be more appropriate to share this special recording. Just coming back from spending some magical days with JJ, in the place where I first met him and where I first heard him play. Full circle moment. 

JJ is the amazing human behind Rebloom, a party and mix series from London, that brings something very much needed in the city. A space of community around deep, mental and psychedelic sounds. I lived in London for 10 years and I wish there had been a Rebloom then!  As a DJ, JJ blew my mind since that first time at Springkell. His selections are psychedelic but emotional, and his mixing style is fast and technical. A great combination of taste and skill, with musical choices that really resonate with what I personally like. 

But what a gift he had for us... A recording of his closing set of the last Rebloom party in London, playing after masters Anthony Linell,  Atomic Moog and Caroune. I can only imagine how special this moment must have been, and getting to share it with all of you is a true privilege. A masterclass of modern psychedelic techno with a dose of dub sounds to top it off. What a mix! Thank you JJ. 

But as often with The Continuum series, it is all about the person, and the connection through music. JJ is a music lover with a huge heart that brings joy to any event he visits, and it is always great news to find out he is joining whatever party you got tickets to. A fun loving person that brings light and laughs to any gathering.
