I started the project about a year ago under the Name White Tusk. I used to be in a band called The Elephant Asylum and was kind of going off the back of that. T.E.A was the ultimate band to be in for me and so once it disbanded I wanted to do something of my own in the same vein. A kind of no rules music that sounds huge and epic, with a lot of passion and feel.

So here we are “Glacial Path” was born once I found a better name than White Tusk. As the project has developed I believe it has taken on its own unique form in that I have made it a concept project based on the birth and growth of our beloved Planet Earth.

I have become so fascinated with our home and feel I can bring to my listeners not just an epic musical journey but hopefully some fascinating facts and insight into the history of this glorious  planet.

As for me. I started my music life on the Drums and got into my first band at 16. It is still my main instrument today. I’ve been playing for 22 (ouch) years….sorry I can’t believe its been that long. I taught my self to start with then had some lessons from a 6th former at school for a couple of years. From then and till 1999 when I went to Drumtech and did a Diploma I was bashing away with out help. Since then I’ve been  on my own again mainly crafting my own style but soaking up ideas and inspiration from the likes of Nicko McBrain, Thomas Haake, Brann Dailor and Nicholas Barker along the way.

One day I had the great idea of buying a guitar and a little 10watt amp (that you will hear in the recordings) I taught myself guitar also and have never had  a lesson…yeah I know it shows LOL….Guitar wise my inspiration started out with Opeth> Then when I joined the band that became The Elephant Asylum they opened me up to a whole new way of playing. I got into bands like Cult Of Luna, Mastodon, Crowbar, Converge  and so on. I have to say, despite all those awesome bands I think my main inspiration for Glacial Path is still The Elephant Asylum and the main Guitarist from that band Leo Stuart


Horrible Man are four friends who, for a few nights of the week, rehearse and play heavy, punk space rock music in a big old barn on an out-of-the-way farm on the south east coast of England. Through the warm and comfortable summers, cold, wet, windy and dark winters, the dedication is uncompromising to bring out the best in what we want to play and what we would want to hear in our little corner. The music has always been paramount. Serving up, what we only hope, is music that who ever hears it will get feeling good. We love to play live and share what we do and create. Now with sufficient medium and attitude Smack Boys (Fella-Fella and CPR) draw on observational experiences and reflections of inhabitants of The Streets surrounding areas and it's mentally degenerate minority. Lyrics from the Boys reveal how their exaggerated world relishes a blase view of law breaking and moral conduct, drugs, global apocalypse of social ignorance due to human rights and other such concepts allowing them to fester/flourish in the "don't blame the children" culture. In a nut shell these songs reveal the lives of failed hard-men, gang-rallying socialites, get rich quick schemes and drug dealers.
With their British view of hip-hop, rap, jungle and drum and bass; Smack Boys try to capture everything they like about these genres with cultural relevance in every song.See if you get some enjoyment out of these analogue sounding mixes. Although, I'm sure you will struggle if you are any self respecting music fan. If the quality doesn't offend you then their obvious inability to use recording equipment will.
