An all-female disco session this week, with Horsebox resident Rach K bringing her funky disco grooves to the airwaves, with special guest Kavita spinning a lovely uplifting vibe.

Horsebox Disco #41 (Craig Adams and Paul Curran)

Dale Gold heads up the show this week with a fabulously funky set of weekend groovers. Our special guest was Andy Buchan, who brings an eclectic vibe to the show, spinning slinky downtempo grooves, housey tech and other electronica. Andy runs his own record label called Hot Gorilla, along with fellow funkmeister “Conan the Selector”, and has unleashed a series of red-hot edits and disco monsters.

As a producer Andy is prolific, releasing quality tracks on a regular basis. He’s signed to 12 different record labels, including Hot Digits, Midnight Riot and Masterworks music. He also co-runs his own record label called Hot Gorilla.

His tracks have been supported by the likes of Craig Charles, Danny Rampling, Greg Wilson and Bicep, to name but a few.

As a DJ, he’s opened for some serious talent including Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, Basement Jaxx and Calvin Harris.

Swedish sensation Plastic Royale took over the decks this week for a magnificent live broadcast of sizzling beats and disco treats. His guest for the second hour was Luke Delite, a DJ and producer from Paris who is known for his soulful blend of disco and house music. This show was hosted by Paul Rowe, who broadcasts the weekly "Funky Disco" show on NDC Radio. He only plays vinyl, which you would never know because his mixing is so smooth (and he never mentions it!). His first hour is upbeat and uplifting, packed with anthems and lovely disco house.  

For the second hour, Even Funkier takes over, living up to his name and delivering one of the funkiest sets we've ever heard him play. He broadcasts his own show called "Funkier Sessions" on a Monday night on NDC, and dives into a whole realm of different genres and funky flavours

His special guest was DeeJay Danny from The Netherlands. He started DJ-ing in his early 20s and later rediscovered his collection of Disco House records from 1998–2000. Going through them, he was struck by the energy of labels like Crydamoure, Clubstar Records, and Subliminal Records. Inspired, he expanded his collection and has been DJ-ing ever since, securing residencies at multiple radio stations and playing over 350 shows.

Beyond the studio, Scott’s DJ sets are globally recognized, with performances across the UK, Europe, Ibiza, the USA, and more. His energetic and genre-spanning approach has seen him share stages with Hot Since 82, Roger Sanchez, and Danny Howard. His label, Grand Plans, launched in 2016, showcases his deeper, jazz-infused productions, receiving widespread acclaim.

Scott also produces a well-received podcast and has been featured in Mixmag, DJ Mag, and Magnetic Magazine. It's a pleasure to welcome him to NDC Radio.

Neil Willis was on hosting duties this week, and opened his set with his magnificent new track, MOVE IT, which will be out on Boogie Brunch Records soon. The rest of his set was equally upbeat and groovy, with proper disco energy. Neil broadcasts his own radio show, Different Strokes, every Monday on NDC Radio, as well as being part of the DJ collection Live Life who have their own weekly show. 

HIs guest this week was the legendary DJ and producer Birdee. Originally from Italy but now based in Los Angeles, he is known for his funky, disco-infused house music. He has built a strong reputation in the nu-disco and house music scenes, releasing music on labels like Glitterbox, Big Love, and Nervous Records. His tracks often feature groovy basslines, uplifting melodies, and a retro yet fresh feel, drawing influence from classic disco and funk. 

Birdee has gained support from industry heavyweights like Purple Disco Machine, Dimitri From Paris, and The Shapeshifters, with his music frequently played in clubs and festivals worldwide. His productions have also been featured on BBC Radio 1 and Defected Radio. His set for the second hour is an absolute blinder

He began his DJ journey in the mid-1990s, playing a versatile vibe of everything from techno, house and funk to disco, early hip-hop  and jackin' house. Horsebox Disco #63 (Pete Ellison and Philoop 2.0)

Resident Woody-R8 blew the roof off this week with a banging set of massive house tunes, playing some stomping new tracks with a light sprinkling of old skool flavours. 

HIs guest for the second hour was the hugely talented Arnaud Mahu, who DJs under the name Volkano. As well as a DJ, he is a producer, a musician and a label owner. 

Arnaud was the drummer and percussionist of The Big Idea, a band that toured extensively across Europe and recorded five albums, carving out a strong presence in the live music scene. While rock stages were his first creative home, it was the pulse of late-night clubs that gave birth of his solo project, Volkano, and the launch of his own label and music community, Disclub. 

The sound of Volcano and Disclub is a blend of genres like Disco, Afrobeat, Soulful House, UK Garage, French Touch, and Breakbeat. But for his Horsebox set, he's taken inspiration from Chicago House, mixed entirely on vinyl :-)

Horsebox Disco #64 (Woody-R8 and Volkano)

Kempton was on hosting duties this week, unleashing an awesome set of kickass house tunes. As well as DJing, Kempton is also a producer, and radio station manager, being one of the founding members NDC Radio, and one of the forces keeping the station at the top of it’s game. He’s been spinning tunes since the 1990s, and always plays a killer set.  

James Hall, professionally known as DJ Mr. Realistic, is a seasoned DJ, producer, and radio presenter based in New York City. He is the founder and CEO of My House Radio FM, a not-for-profit online station dedicated to promoting house music and DJs from across the globe.

As a DJ, Mr. Realistic has performed internationally, including appearances at events in Miami and Amsterdam. He is known for his deep and soulful house sets


Horsebox Disco #65 (Kempton & Mr Realistic)

Yorkee was on the decks this week, with a special set curated by Mrs Yorkee (aka Karen). She provided a list of her favourite tracks, and Yorkee mixed them into a solid hour of uplifting joy and sunshine, with pianos, vocals and cheeky bassline grooves.

His special guest for the second hour was Da Funk Junkies. Hailing from Portsmouth, they specialize in funky, disco-infused jackin' house. They have been crafting their art for almost 20 years, bringing high-energy funk to dance floors across the globe.​

Horsebox Disco #66 - YorKee & guest Da Funk Junkies

Sean Benton brings his funky uplifting vibes to the airwaves this week. A firm favourite of our listeners, Sean always delivers quality tunes to make you move and groove. 

His guest was Joe Frattin, a seasoned DJ and producer with a career spanning over three decades. He began his journey as a resident DJ in Italy and has since expanded his reach globally, performing at various events and venues. 

In 2017, Joe relocated to Dubai, performing at renowned venues such as BOA, WHITE, Zero Gravity, Billionaire Maison, and Cavalli Club. He continued to focus on music production, working with producers like Mecs and Jjupiter FC. His collaborations with artists like David Guetta, Sia, and Jasmine Thompson further elevated his international presence

He is also the official DJ for the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina and performs at The London Project in Dubai. He also collaborates with the prestigious Alajmo Group in Venice, continuing to innovate in electronic dance music and live performance

DJ Moll takes to the decks this week, starting the show with some deeper cuts before moving onto an uplifting house vibe, mixing classic tracks with new.

His guest for the second hour was Redwine House, who delivered an upbeat set of stomping house magic, with a light sprinkling of old skool flavours and some massive new tunes. Hailing from Bilbao in Spain, he's played at various nightclubs and restaurants around the town.He produces awesome house music, but sometimes brings tech house, garage and minimal into the mix.
