René Barjavel était un écrivain et journaliste français, également scénariste et dialoguiste de cinéma. Il est principalement connu pour ses romans d'anticipation, de science-fiction ou fantastique dans lesquels s'exprime l'angoisse ressentie devant une technologie que l'être humain ne maîtrise plus.
Les propos recueillis lors d'une interview radio en 1971 ont inspiré Horypnotik, 50 ans plus tard, afin de faire un "collage" audio de Barjavel sur un fond de musique dub; de ce mélange est né le scifi dub.


René Barjavel was a French writer and journalist, also screenwriter and film dialogue writer. He is mainly known for his anticipation, science fiction or fantasy novels in which the anguish felt in front of a technology that human beings no longer master is expressed.
The remarks collected during a radio interview in 1971 inspired Horypnotik, 50 years later, to make an audio "collage" of Barjavel on a background of dub music; from this mixture was born the scifi dub.
