Soulful liquid sensation Hugh Hardie is back with his brand new ‘Inhale Exhale’ EP on Hospital Records. Featuring a range of talented artists including Phaction, Zoe Kypri and Javeon, Hugh Hardie has consistently contributed to the new wave of liquid drum & bass in recent years. Continuing onwards from his impressive streak of EPs including the sensational ‘Dream In Green’ EP , ‘Learning To Fly’ four-tracker and lockdown gem ‘7 Tunes In 7 Days, Hugh’s first standalone release of 2022 is yet another futuristic drum & bass treasure.

‘Got U Wrong’ opens the EP, welcoming warm vocals and sweet melodies alongside the Bristolian singer-songwriter Javeon who blesses the track with his sublime R&B charged vocals. Hugh Hardie and fellow liquid soul selector Phaction unite for their fourth collaboration, to provide an infectious, smooth roller layered with crunchy drums, glitched out synths and a pumping bassline.

‘Coulda Woulda’ is an upbeat bouncer with a healthy dose of skippy drum work and a flirtatious bass that glides through the mix like a knife through butter. Ravey vocal chops and hypnotic plucks throughout showcase Hugh’s innate ability as an all round studio samurai.

EP title track ‘Inhale Exhale’ featuring the immensely talented jazz and soul singer-songwriter Zoe Kypri shows Hugh Hardie flaunt his distinctive sound accompanied by Zoe’s heartfelt lyricism and moving harmonies. This is just the follow up you need after the pair’s initial link up on ‘Dream In Green’ last year which received huge BBC Radio 1 support from the likes of Annie Mac and Rickie, Melvin and Charlie.

Switching up the style for the final track of the EP, ‘Kodiak’ sees tearout wobbles, stomping drums and just the right amount of cowbell. Demonstrating his ability to venture over to the darker side of drum & bass, this ripper of a number is set to shell down any rave.

From years of experience perfecting his craft, Hugh Hardie’s trademark liquid rollers and supreme soulful cuts have seen support from his music come in from all angles of the dance music scene. With a solid selection of radio spins from the likes of Annie Mac, Laurent Garnier, Rickie Melvin & Charlie, René LaVice and Hybrid Minds, to plays on the dancefloor from DJ Marky, LTJ Bukem, Flava D, LSB, Lenzman & more, the calibre of Hugh’s music speaks for itself. Veteran mic-controller Richard Twaites, better known as his force-wielding alter ego Visionobi, has been hard at work in the studio for the last 21 months crafting his sought-after debut album. After a bustling 2022 for the British MC, we’re incredibly proud to present the forthcoming fruits of his linguistic labour in the form of the 12-track aural experience that is the ‘Weather The Storm’ LP. The album, the culmination of 25 years of work, boasts a whopping 14 collaborators, featuring some of the game’s most valued and esteemed vocalists and producers. Visionobi’s first foray into the long-player format showcases his talent for both writing and delivery across a whole range of styles and sub-genres from our diverse scene. 

On ‘Bleeding Out’ our protagonist teams up with North Quarter affiliate producer Zero T and soulful-siren Aaliyah Esprit for a notably playful, bouncy cut from the LP. Showcasing definite dedication to the deed, the trio convey an exuberant temper in this head-nodding, soiree-shaker which is sure to light up even the mildest of moods. 

Bleeding Out lands in all good stores on 14th April.

Polish producer Satl steps out of his comfort zone and explores his Dub Techno infuences on his new Lucid Dreams EP: his sophomore release on Amsterdam boutique label The North Quarter.

Consisting of six brooding, but elegant tracks, “Lucid Dreams” is the work of an artist taking creative risks in order to grow and fnd his voice. Having made the move from Rotterdam to Gdańsk at the start of the year, Satl spent his lockdown delving into his love for Techno; looking to translate it into his Drum & Bass productions - with exceptional results.

"This EP to me is an exploration of a sound that I've loved for some time, but never really felt confdent enough to attempt. A more raw, techno-inspired, but still elegant and classy form of Drum and Bass," he explains. "I always strive to push myself forward, and I feel really good about this project. It's a step outside of my comfort zone. A project that I'm really proud of."

Man of the moment Monrroe delivers this stunning pack of Liquid inspired Drum & Bass samples featuring many of the sounds you will know from his outstanding productions. Known for his beautiful atmospheric soundscapes, warm bass and rolling drums, Monrroe gives you the chance to up your production game quickly and easily.
