I was creating an Afro House instrumental using one of my favorite songs as a reference when I realized it could be interesting to contact Stevo Atambire, the vocalist from that track. I wanted to make something more commercial for my discography and reach a new audience after releasing mostly downtempo and organic house.

I started “Loe” with my new Moog Subsequent 37: the “Seeker of the Truth” preset is the soul of the track and has become a signature sound in my projects. The bass and the whole low end also come from the Moog, giving the record a powerful presence. After getting in touch with Stevo, we developed the vocals seriously and I added percussion recorded with a djembe I bought in Barcelona.

The song marks a new phase: moving from organic/ethnic roots (also reflected in pre-Hispanic visual influences) toward a more Afro House direction, with the goal of reaching the top charts. It’s also an important bridge for Mutul—releasing on We’re Here, a key label in the genre, is a major milestone
