The most recent Hot Club Sandwich album incorporates two songs from the collection of Ray Wood and his songwriting partner, Vann Cantin. In the title track, "No Pressure", the singer addresses a character named ‘Sippi’ in a scene from their co-written musical set in Louisiana, The Alligator Circus: “Got no pressure / I’m where I wanna be / Back-porch cookin’ / Bluesy jazz and Sippi and me.” Wood sets the scene with his delicate, intentional touch on the guitar and delivers the lyrics as only he could. After thousands of performances over a span of more than 70 years, "No Pressure" is first time Ray's lead vocals have appeared on record.
