"This mix is a snapshot of where I’m at in 2022. Extended time away from playing out has allowed me to diversify my focus into new areas, as well as returning to some older influences with a new mindset. There’s new music from me across techno, electro, drum and bass, grey area, dubstep (I’m back baby) and whatever you call the dubstep version of grey area (yeah that’s happening) as well as some choice cuts from third parties. The hard part was making it all work, I feel I’ve constructed it in a way that flows well and isn’t too jarring. It’s not perfect but music rarely ever is! Hope you like it."

Heavily influenced by the stylistic features of grey area and non-genre dance music, Constructions 057 is spearheaded by Australian artist, Special Circumstances. 

Fusing intricate polyrhythms, dark atmospherics, and otherworldly synth programming into the bedrock of his musical manifesto, this foray sees Special Circumstances’ second appearance on the Constructions series after taking the maiden voyage for Constructions 001.

As an outlet for his cerebral dancefloor experiments that showcase the creative possibilities lurking outside the realm of homogenised dance music, 2019 saw the inception of his own label, Specious Music.

This year will see several new releases from Special Circumstances, including a release on Positive Centre’s In Silent Series label and a multi-part, multi-genre series of releases on Specious Music spanning Techno, Drum and Bass, Dubstep, Electro, Downtempo, and the grey areas in between.

After his first vinyl release in 2018, Piska Power, alias Stefan Junge was associated with a  Downtempo and Wave/New Beat influenced music style. 2021 voam records released his first techno vinyl release. 2022 he kept up the Bpm on his EP on Omnidisc including two remixes by Danny Daze. So it was is no surprise his second Mutant Radio show by would be faster one being recorded around 150 BPM playing his unreleased techno tracks and mixing them with breakbeats and trance synth driven songs. Hotflush is a record label launched by Paul Rose aka Scuba in 2003. Its early period was spent as a central part of London's Bass Music scene which exploded in the mid 2000s, although the label has always been difficult to pigeonhole musically and recent output has focused on Techno and House.
