Monoloc makes his debut on Hotflush recordings, the label’s first release of 2016. Following 
a recent single on Innervisions and an appearance on Life & Death, his latest offering 
‘Another Thing’ marks a departure into more atmospheric soundscapes.

The murky grandeur of the title track lends itself to moody textures that build in narrative, 
walking a knife-edge between industrial techno and minimalist dub. ‘TrySome’ conjures the 
setting of a dilapidated warehouse rave at 5am, while ‘Makeless’, with its low-slung 
percussive elements draped over misty pads and imposing bass, draws the listener further 
into Monoloc’s wormhole.

Someone Outside takes us on a journey into space with three pieces of shimmering and emotive techno.

"Constellation" opens the EP with a broken rhythm, sizzling hats and shímmering chord stabs.

"Forbidden Planet" mixes driving percussion patterns with a deep pads.

"Lost City" resolves the EP with an energetic bassline and arpeggio hook.

Milan based collective Just This present the ‘Enter The Block’ EP from label mainstays Hunter/Game due November 2nd as a digital-only release. Featured in this five-track package are two remixes from Cassegrain and Amandra.

Title track is a minimalist roller featuring subtle acid inflections and a pointillist melody. For their remix, Cassegrain morph the unfurling hypnotism of the original into something more twisted, punctuating its cyclic nature with drawn out tones and frenetic rhythms.

‘Second Floor’ is an exercise in restraint, slowly building around one motif that swirls in and out of focus above stripped back percussion. Amandra provides an unexpectedly angular interpretation for his remix, repurposing the original into a molecular structure of atonal textures driven forwards by marching percussion.

Closing off the EP, ‘Explore’ revolves around a tiny, glistening melody, teetering on the edge of something bigger in a way that builds a brooding tension.

‘Surrogat’ is the latest release on Arguru by up-and-coming techno producer Thorberg, As he makes his debut release on Arguru with this thumping 3 track EP. The EP opens with the ear-piercing banger ‘Surrogat’, the full potential of which can only be realized through a proper sound system. The second track, ‘Knocking on Heavens Door’, shifts the focus towards a hypnotic set of synths. The third track, a Fonda remix of ‘Surrogat’, lightens the original tracks’ mood by reshuffling some of its elements. Expect more to come from this producer!

Amandra and Ovend reveal their collaboration, called Ovandra, on their joint label @AhrpeRecords. The Retrofuture LP features in total of nine tracks, of which Monument premieres "French Kiss". 

The release is out on vinyl on March 15th, and in digital format on March 29th.

Hotflush is a record label launched by Paul Rose aka Scuba in 2003. Its early period was spent as a central part of London's Bass Music scene which exploded in the mid 2000s, although the label has always been difficult to pigeonhole musically and recent output has focused on Techno and House.
