Suns out, guns out! Or at least that's what they must have been thinking over at MNL when putting together the latest installment of their well known Seasons series, as their Spring 2024 EP is packed with progressive house weapons from all over the world.

Danae, Em CA & Facucio, Mayank, VegaZ SL and Felipe Gurascier & Juman are all label debutants, but they are well worthy of their place on the long running Manual Music subsidiary. They've all delivered their absolute best, covering a wide range of what the progressive house genre stands for these days.

The 'Alarm The Sound' EP will feature the title track and a killer set of remixes from the likes of Dirty Channels, Francesco Bonora & Marcello Arletti and John Tejada.

We've got the premiere of Tejada's edit and this one is aimed firmly at the warehouse. His re-imagining features giant piano chords, outrageous low-end rumbles and claps that bring a whole lotta groove. It's a track that when dropped at 4am would do serious damage. Check it.

Futuristic-funk starchild, Jimmy Edgar, returns with the third single to be taken from his recent album, Majenta, out earlier this year on Hotflush. This time Edgar shoves his free-spirited sexual appetite in your face, with a slice of stripped-down, upfront electro-funk complete with J.G. Ballard-inspired lyrics of car-crash sexual fetishism. 

Alongside the original album cut, two alternate takes are reworked by a pair of producers at the very top of their game: Jon Convex and John Talabot. Whilst Talabot creates an eerie and downright epic re-imagining through his combination of Amazonian electronics and volume manipulation, the Convex cut enhances the dance floor potential of the original with bubbling, arpeggiated 303 bass.

Hotflush is a record label launched by Paul Rose aka Scuba in 2003. Its early period was spent as a central part of London's Bass Music scene which exploded in the mid 2000s, although the label has always been difficult to pigeonhole musically and recent output has focused on Techno and House.
