field recording manifesto: as an artist/musician i strive to exploit the endless possibilities of not just music, but sound. and not just for the benefit of pleasing the aural senses (ear candy) but incorporating ALL sounds, harsh and otherwise. if they can be drawn out of an object, they exist, and are fair game, deserving the intimacy of a microphone leaning in, tracking every distinct subtlety, always unique & fleeting in that particular moment (whether recording or not). Even familiar or redundant sounds are produced, or emitted slightly differently every time. This opens the doors to subtle, mind-manifesting possibilities to all audiences. sometimes curious, and sometimes nostalgic, many "industrial" noises and acousmatic sounds can and will fuel innovative creativity and imagination...
