Why do you have to pray? Prayer is necessary to give God permission to intervene in your life, and since from Matthew 6: 31-33, we know that God already knows what we need even before we are aware of the need, and he has already made provision for the need. However, to unlock access to his provision, we must first give God permission through prayer.

Life Class With Temi Odejide - The Necessity Of Prayer - Why Pray - 04.03.2020

The 2nd Life Class in the 4 part series of "Prayer School". 

What is prayer really all about? What is the definition of prayer? What's the secret sauce in prayer?

From 1 John 5:14,15; we can only be confident about answered prayers when we pray in accordance with God's will. We learnt in the previous session that God has a will for us, but before he can intervene and have his will be done in us, he first needs our permission through prayer.

Indeed according to Jeremiah 29:11, God's plan for us is good, beautiful and perfect. So if anything is not good and perfect for you, then it's not from God. In order for God to grant us the desires of our hearts, we must first have desires which are according to his will, which only becomes possible when we make ourselves pliable in the hands of God (Psalms 37:4)

The spiritual warfare of believers is not warfare FOR victory (trying to win), instead it is FROM victory (because we already have the victory through Jesus' sacrifice). It is the job of believers to use prayer to call that which has already established in heaven on Earth. Likewise, believers should exercise the authority they have on Earth to bind and loose things on Earth so that they can be mirrored in heaven.
