Italian DJ/producer Nicola Calbi drops his ‘Eternate EP’ on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax this May. 

Chalking up appearances on Deeperfect, Desolat, and Fuse Records, the Stigliano-born, Barcelona-based Nicola Calbi makes his debut appearance on Jones’ ever-consistent imprint with a four-track EP of rugged house cuts. 

Opener ‘Blobber’ sees Calbi team up with frequent collaborator Luky, stretching visceral textures over swinging, shuffled drums. ‘Introverso’ marries stuttering pads over deep basslines and trippy FX for a heads-down, late-night jam. ‘Piano Sorte’ brings inspired field recordings thrilling piano loops together for a crunchy peak time cut, while ‘Alba eldiana’ rounds out the EP peacefully with a dose of wistful woodwinds and soothing synthesis.
