Formerly known as Al Tourettes, London-based producer Alec Storey unveiled his new project as Second Storey with 2013’s ‘Margosa Heights’ EP. Now he drops ‘Shaman Champagne’, the lead single from ‘Double Divide’, his forthcoming debut LP due for release this October on Houndstooth, the esteemed label from London nightclub fabric, which is A&Red by Electronic Explorations curator Rob Booth.

Inhabiting a space full of contradictions, paradoxes and idiosyncrasies, Storey produces music that runs the gamut from multi-part suites of hefty sound design to club-shaking yet brainy dance epics for labels like Apple Pips, Aus and many more. This new project is at the crossroads; vastly complex and intricately arranged, “Shaman Champagne” is an adventurous club tune crafted by a truly inspired mind, showing off his bass roots as well as his psychedelically inspired musical abilities.

On the heels of his successful The Power And The Glory LP, Perc Trax label boss Perc (@perc) offers up a wonderfully heavy, pummelling remix, followed by a bouncy dancefloor roller from Aden, who is rumoured to be the Ultramajic label’s A&R, Machinedrum (@machinedrum)

The 12" is cut & mastered by Matt Colton, and limited to 500 copies.

Tomorrow Sunday September 7th i’m excited to bring @cubby.c0m to the @particlefm realm for 2 hours of Belly Music. Cubby is a music producer, DJ, guitar player, and a top tier barista to boot. He recently started a weekly listening event at the @percyphl Sound Lounge called Spatial Awareness where I was graciously asked to be the first guest DJ and later a full on collaborator. Cubby is extremely talented and loved by the Philadelphia community. His styling and selection have tended to lean towards techno and harder dance music but in recent time I have witnessed his interest and approach in sound explore broader scapes in ambient, dub, post-punk, and beyond. He told me he’s been thinking about playing Belly Music for awhile so I’m anticipating something thoughtful and cared for. The selection drifts through drone, minimalism, ambient, electroacoustic, folk, and sacred music, featuring many friends and collaborators whose work continues to shape and inspire them.
