This radio show for my Parisian friends is unlike my latest work a relatively wild feeling. As always I, @houschyar, tried to spit out what I have soaked up in the last weeks of my confusing drift through the city of dreams. It reflects a feral time full of alcohol, friendship, teargas and acid drops, which could have been expressed in many different ways, this happens to be just one of them.

about the Lable M SQUARED for the Attic Magazine, Romania.

"M Squared is a pure DIYrecord lable which was run from a small recording studio in Sydney, Australia between 1979 and 1984, founded by Mitch Jones and Michael Tee. 
Together with a small group of diversly talented  friends, they gathered in the Wilshire Street, close to the studio of Doublethink records, to start their own project and go to war against the big record companies, with their ideas of "Oz Rock".
Through the following time great artists like Shane Fahey joined with an armful of cassettes of wonderful tunes that waited for their release and formed new projects like 'The Makers of the Dead Travel Fast'.
After some starting problems, they easily made it from a 4-track to an equiped studio, from cassettes to 12" records. The live appearances by Systematics and The Makers of the Dead Travel Fast over the summer 1981 started the fascinating challenge of trying to win over Australian pub audiences with M Squared's versions of "rock" music. Michael Tee started talking to promoters and venue owners and convincing them that an M Squared night was conducive to a lot of punters buying beer. 
A lot of great live shows were played.
The M Squared idea was, that music does not have to conform with any sound or style. 
New styles were created, new directions were set.
1984 sadly things did not go exactly to plan. By mid year M Squared was over. 1 Wilshire Street was abandoned and the three friends drifted apart."

Houschyar investigated and selected his favorite 38 tunes, which appeared on M Squared Records between 1980 -1983.

An entry of the Birds by Artūras Čertovas aka @art-ras-e. He's a music lover and selector, architect and artist from Vilnius, Lithuania. He's interested in musical oddities, unexpected relationships, obscure grooves and synthesis of (im)perfection. Usually combining genres such as wave, minimal, post-punk, experimental, ambient, pop, and synth sounds, influenced by 80's lo-fi and current times. He has a monthly radio show at the independent community radio Palanga Street Radio based in Vilnius and the Internet.
