Driving forward from their recent EP ‘Killing With Kindness’ which received an array of solid reviews from leading publications worldwide, the duo are now proud to announce their latest release. Two upbeat, off-centre productions that truly captivates the sound of Catz ‘N Dogz.

The opening track entitled ‘The Joy’ is a perfect showcase of the duos intricate ability to produce a diverse range of dance music. The warming vocal melody layered on top of a down-tempo synth arrangement gently drives the production from start to finish. Coupled with a deep, fluttering baseline ‘The Joy’ is yet another standout anthem from the pair.

Everyone from Coldplay to LL Cool J, Robert Hood to Lana del Rey has had their say as to what ‘Paradise’ sounds like: now it’s the turn of Secondcity to define what life is like on Clarisse cloud nine. Rowan Harrington’s two previous Clarisse communications had him remixing Mendo’s’ ‘Magic’ and restyling Dario D’Attis & Yvan Genkins’ ‘Afro Call’ last year, while his soaraway smash ‘I Wanna Feel’ emphatically ensured the safety of Ibizan piano house. Now with a Balearic residency under his belt at Sankey’s Tribal Sessions, festival dates overflowing from his dairy and heavyweight backing across the board, it’s safe to say Secondcity isn’t one to be settling for a silver medal position.

The chunky swing of ‘Paradise’, full of new jack dons and denizens of the loverman brand, is classically Clarisse in its mechanical management of the dancefloor. Trained to crisp clubbers’ suntans and priding itself on ploughing through rough, nuggety terrain in opposition to its smooth vocal quips, Secondcity’s kick drums are on a can’t stop-won’t stop mission to put some heavy starch into sharp suits. A two-pronged, one-track mind where flirting meets focussed beats.

Having the word ‘sun’ in their name should help tell you what Solardo are all about on the remix. Appearing on Chase & Status’ More Than Alot and Riva Starr’s Snatch! labels already this year, their idea of ‘Paradise’ is to bubble up an acid boogie giving more spotlight to the original’s suave-talking sugar daddy. The Boiler Room-bigged up duo of Mark Richards and James Elliot sprinkle their Solardo solution with more than a dash of energetic fun, paying dues to the theory that everybody needs a 303 and coming to the crowd as a cool breeze rather than an acid sweat storm.

Play It Say It welcome back a giant of the underground scene with Steve Lawler returning to serve up another essential single for this definitive label. ABSOLUTE. also offers a remix to complete the package.

Lawler has been a key part of the house world for decades. As a DJ, he has consistently played at the world’s best clubs, often taking his own VIVa parties to these places as well as formerly being resident at The End and Twilo and being known as The King of Space Ibiza for his sets there. His VIVa empire also includes an essential label that has released music by some of the biggest names in the game, often before they were famous, and his own productions have kept people dancing on labels like Cocoon, SCI+TEC, Drumcode & Play it Say It amongst many other.

The excellent ‘Narna (I Am Happy)’ is a driving track with insistent drum loops and glistening hits. It’s pure dancing material with smartly used filters to build tension. The synths worm in and out of the groove to bring real energy, then the whole thing dramatically flips into a joyous disco breakdown with emotive vocals and big strings before sinking back into the powerful tech house groove. The techno tool version is more driving, high energy and relentless and designed to blow up the floor.

Then UK star ABSOLUTE. steps up with a remix. He is someone who has turned plenty of heads from The Black Madonna to Dave Clarke with his always full flavour sounds on labels like Turbo. His superb version ups the ante with some brilliantly bulky drums to force the groove along and ensure maximum destruction.
