'Venezuelan artist Fur Coat steps up to add his own signature sound to Karol XVII & MB Valence's 'Fool's Gold' single.

Fur Coat is the solo project of Sergio Muñoz, an artist in the truest sense of the word who looks to craft musical journeys as a DJ and moving melodies and emotions as a producer. He has dropped two acclaimed albums including 2020's ‘Polyphony’ on Renaissance, as well as EPs on Balance, Last Night On Earth, Watergate and of course his own Øddity Records. He is a regular at the world's finest clubs from Fabric to Space Miami, Warung in Brazil to Pacha and explores new possibilities every time he steps up.

'Fool's Gold' feat. Jono McCleery was the final single from Karol XVII & MB Valence's well-received album ‘Essay’, which dropped in February 2022. It now gets remixed by Fur Coat into something that will send shivers up the spine. The chords are filled with melancholy. The vocal is beautifully tender and conveys a sense of pain. The drums are what lift you up as they roll on while the synths grow more optimistic and majestic.

Fur Coat's remix is a subtle and stylish track that manages to make an epic emotional impact.'

An artist with a rich electronic music history, Chris Zippel has been immersed in the world of house since the age of 15. Splitting his time between Berlin and Ibiza, the German artist has taken centre stage with work alongside the Pet Shop Boys, Robbie Williams and Paul Van Dyk. With music signed to Ubersee Music, Allisum Records and GMJ & Matter's Meanwhile Horizons, Zippel continues to grow in stature. A rising star, renowned for her status as a leading Qanun player, Ghenwa Nemnom has combined her love of the traditional Middle Eastern instrument with an ability to use its unique sound in the world of dance music and the organic house sound found on such leading imprints as Café De Anatolia, Alt Orient and Melody of the Soul. Now joining forces for the first time, "To Follow" is an extraordinary track that drifts enticingly with gently rolling beat and deep 16th note sub bassline. In tandem, the beautifully plucked sound of Nemnom's Quanun reveals itself in a virtuoso performance. A whispering vocal phrase emerges at the mid-point before ambient effects and subtly placed arpeggio combine in the second half to spine-tingling and immaculately crafted effect.

Gavin Griffin needs no introduction to those familiar with the progressive house sound of the past 5 years. A leading light in the underground fraternity with his performance behind the decks and near 500 production credits for the like of Anjunadeep, Balance Music and Proton Music, the Australian artist continues to push boundaries, defining the modern progressive sound. Reworking "To Follow", the GMJ remix is dripping in trademark silky smooth melodies and rolling rhythmic underpinning. Building imperceptibly, a vocal sample from Zippel and Nemnom's original creates a melodic peg from which to hang a glorious analogue synth motif. The cadenced phrase shimmers across the stereo spectrum as layer of pads and counterpoint motifs create an uplifting sonic experience. Using the fundamental harmonic themes from "To Follow", the track builds post-breakdown into a glorious sonic collage that showcases GMJ's technique and talent to the full.

Sie zerrinnt sekündlich und man hat nie genug, dennoch ist sie unendlich... die Zeit. Sie wird einem gegeben und genommen, dreht sich im Kreis und läuft doch immer vorwärts, ist im selben Moment unerträglich lang und dennoch verfliegt viel zu schnell. Sie bestimmt unser Leben und ist doch ein mysteriöses Ding.
Viele Eigenschaften der Zeit treffen auch auf unsere neue EP „Mystery“ zu. Von dieser EP kann man auch nicht genug bekommen und die Tracks scheinen im ersten Moment sehr lang zu sein. Vor allem der Original Mix vom Düsseldorfer Tim Kollberg nimmt sich Zeit, um die Intensität behutsam aufzubauen und beständig steigen zu lassen. Dennoch ist der Hörgenuss gefühlt zu schnell wieder vorbei, da die einzelnen Elemente perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt sind und es im Arrangement ständig etwas Neues zu entdecken gibt. Genau dort setzt auch der Remix von Yeröm an. Die Essenz des Originals bleibt erhalten und gleichzeitig werden die prägenden Synth Elemente und Drums so abgewandelt, dass fließend Abwechslung entsteht und der Track eine völlig neue Dimension erhält. Fast so als wäre er das Abbild des Originals aus einem Paralleluniversum.

Multitudes is the new various artists compilation series by Berlin label Casomat, designed to showcase the multitude of emerging talent creating quality deeper/leftfield melodic house & techno at the moment. The series will have a strong emphasis on sounds that stray away from the norms and the trends, creating a platform for artists to experiment and listeners to be introduced to new ideas & concepts.

The first of the 4 tracks making up Volume 1 is a collaboration between Italian artists Philip Auster and Bumppo. No strangers to one another, the duo are bound by a long friendship and have been creating & releasing music together since 2017. 'Desiderio' is an intelligently designed club track, with carefully crafted bleeps & glitches interspersing the otherwise sparse but unrelenting beat.

Next up are Maicol MP & Steedo. Also Italian born and based, but citing Berlin and the other large European party destinations as a significant influence on their sound. Despite being a trained pianist and a sound technician, their passion lies with the creation of electronic music and that's exactly what they've been doing for the past several years. 'Lanzarote' is slightly more melodic but still clearly built for the dancefloor, built around a driving bassline and several layers of infectious rhythmic plucks.

The third artist featuring on CASOMAT005 is French producer Hansgod, an experienced musician with a healthy catalogue of releases dating all the way back to 2013 on labels such as Colorize, Manual and Traum, as well as his own Gnosticuts imprint. 'Trk Ktrl' is a deep and hypnotic number, with choir-like pads paving the way for a huge and slightly disorienting lead synth which builds and builds, completely enveloping the listener at its crux.

Rounding out the EP is newcomer Ihpek from Buenos Aires. His debut release came out just a couple of months ago on Glowal's esteemed label Sementa, marking his arrival with a bang and showing a real statement of intent for the future. 'Mar del Plata' is centered around a beautiful pad which ebbs and flows as the track progresses, delicately sitting on top of the body of complex arps and ever-changing harmonies.

A brand new beginning!

Incláme is a symbiosis between two extraordinary personalities. They challenge themselves to create something more than just interweaving rhythms and melodies. They have designed a world filled with deep sounds and bright accents, where the calm is abruptly broken by euphoria. Their music is a journey full of unexpected twists and rapid takeoffs. This is the first release from the duo that has already set the bar immensely high.

The accompanying artwork is part of an original installation done by multi-disciplinary artist Georg Jagunov. In his own words, he asks us to "Join us for a journey into the ancient worlds of green and hidden geochemical realms".

Moss is the most ancient terrestrial plant and can be found growing on every continent. Small and easily overseen, it has played an essential role in forming the world as we know it. According to a recent scientific theory, moss-like plants triggered the first ice age during the Ordovician era some 470 million years ago by causing a rapid drop in carbon levels. Lucky for mosses they can survive frozen for centuries, and revive when thawed."

Safe to say we have put extra work and effort into this new beginning.

Next up is the remix by Madrid-based artist Ian Ludvig.  
He has made an incredible remix with his dark notes, which raises the intensity while still maintaining an energetic, electronic state, something very common in Ian Ludvig's work.
His haunting remix blurs the line between techno and melodic house and will no doubt capture the attention of many.
