House Of Hustle Radio - Episode 46 Feat. 81 And Contribe

Bringing back House of Hustle-heavyweight Foolie was one of our top priorities for the second half of 2021. Foolie has been a friend of the label for a while, released his last EP more than a year ago, so we thought it was about time to get some new heat from the man.

Foolie's album 'Conversations', which came out on Justin Martin's label Trippy Ass Technologies reached number one in the Bass House charts, which made us all a little bit proud for believing in this top-notch producer from the get-go.

'Low Blip' and 'Missed Calls', we feel, are perfect representations of Foolie's style. Which we'd define it as hard-hitting, against the norm and a bit dirty at times, but still groovy as hell. It's a style we've certainly come to appreciate heavily in these last few years.

By releasing this banger of an EP, we hope to introduce more and more people to the sounds of Foolie, who is one of the most underrated producers to date.

With full energy into a new year. With our 3rd Future Freaks Various Artists, we have the perfect basis for a successful year 2022. On this tape we have some new faces and an artist who already is part of our family.
Sigaah opens the VA with his track 'Do It', followed by El Monk with his tune 'A$$id' and DJ Tisch, who has already released two tracks on our main label We Are Freaks, also joins us with his track 'Touch It'. Camouflaged Cats with 'No Thump', Bødman with 'The Princess' and Left Ear Right with 'Gettin’ It Goin’ ' build up the second part of the record.

Of course, there are freaky and dirty sounds again, but also bass and crazy melodies filling the six tracks. Some surprises and uniques are definitely included. Well, what else can we say, enjoy and stay tuned for 2022!

After all the funny release quotes we write, we’ve never actually spoken about why and how we came up with the name Box of Cats. It’s a pretty random name for a record label, besides what have cats got to do with music anyway? Well, more than you think… Ever heard of the musical 'CATS', or Love Cats by The Cure, or ’50 Something Cats’ by deadmau5?

Anyway, the true story about cats came from us wanting to have a bunch of friends together with the same vibe. A bunch of cats in a box together. A Box of Cats. Yep, it’s literally that simple. Now with well over 100 artists on our roster, it’s become a pretty big box! We ran out of room, so we bought a bigger box and called it Box of Trax! Fully-fledged, heavy hitting tunes that deserve to be highlighted in a compilation all of their own.

You might recognise some familiar faces like ZOF, Max Kaluza & Osker Wilde and Kimba making their returns. We’ve also tracked down some fresh talent for good measure in the form of GetCosy, Ian Allen & Techneekz and some super fresh new talent by the name of Ricky Bobi!

No need for a ‘fragile’ sticker when boxing these ones up, so don’t be afraid to throw them around. In fact, we encourage it!
