Away from idolatry and escapism, "HAUPTFORM" is the latest EP from the creative crucible of Brussels-based mutant project Ottoman Grüw. Marking his debut release on Umwelt’s imprint, the artist unfurls three scorched electro-techno anthems ready to ignite dancefloors and a cinematic ambient track. 

Across "HAUPTFORM", Ottoman Grüw showcases his ability to inject noise elements and EBM influences to expand listeners mind, while making bridges between old school electro, techno and modern industrial music. Step in, for the sake of body control!

The A side features the track “U (Control & Destroy)” which combines massive drum patterns and disorienting atmospheres with robotic vocals - all wrapped in a technoid frenzy. Following that, “Phantom Rhythmic” provides a highenergy blend of sassy irresistible electro and cold hypnotic synths.
But wait, there’s more: on the B side “Hauptform” takes you skirting the edges of unknown realms through intricated sequences. Finally, “Life Comes From Its Own Degradation” closes the curtain with a dark, ambient and cinematic lullaby, where abstract lifeforms collide— a delicate ballet of entropy. Is it birth or decay? Perhaps both.

Emerging from the depths of the rave scene, NZM 99’s sound sorcery is driven by dark and acid techno, underlaid with heavy, powerful bass. His electrifying and skillful performances leave crowds spellbound. As the founder of Tjalk Records, a heartfelt tribute to the boat he resides on in Lyon, NZM 99’s numerous releases on esteemed labels like Persephonic Sirens, Khoinix, and Flesh Or Die have brought him to international stages, with recent shows in Poland, Germany, and Georgia. It has been two years since the first compilation on the Various Artists series (PEVA) of Pi Electronics and the concept has stayed true to its aim: to present a coherent selection of the label’s favourite collaborators from the roster and parties over the years. Bringing together Greek and international artists, this compilation opens with a 10 minute recording by the combined forces of Orphx and JK Flesh (Justin Broadrick), from a live performance recorded in Amsterdam. Meanwhile we also showcase the resurfacing of Vofa, the joint project of producers Sawf and ANFS. There is a variety of options in this 13 tracks release; from the raw and harsh textures of An-i and New Frames, to Lycurgus live drum set recordings, Kondaktor’s African percussive electronics and Sarin’s EBM infused techno. Some more techno interpretations, such as the hypnotic moods of Stave and Fragedis, or the more punchy sounds of Restive Plaggona and Poison Green. These shape the full picture of this second Pi Electronics compilation titled ‘Divide & Rule’.
