Sometimes, albeit rare, you hear a piece of music that stops you in your tracks. It then stays with you, a soundtrack to that moment in time, forever there, warm and fuzzy when re-called.
Sail is one of those compositions. I can remember exactly where I was when I first heard it. A warm lazy Friday afternoon around June 2023, vaguely concentrating on work as I daydreamed away the diminishing hours soundtracked by Richard Sen’s lovely Do!!You!!! radio show.
It peaked my interest immediately with its opening melancholic and emotive Prophet 5 brass chords over a sparse beat. And then the bass entered, lapping and fizzing electronically underneath propelling the melodies forward, bobbing along, drawing me into its current.
It was clear this was a special track, the radio chat forum coming to life with love and requests prompting me to reach out to Louis, initially just to say how much I loved it but next wondering if there was a chance to remix or even release it. Now, approximately 18 months later we have crafted a release we are truly proud of.

Swirl People revisit their roots with a nostalgic four track EP from their early days as Fortune Cookie. This collection - which is their third release on L.I.T.S. - features carefully selected tracks from their original 1996 releases on Marguerite, a small label run by a friend. Nearly three decades later, these still much sought-after tracks are finally being reissued. The EP opens with 'Glitter Girls,' which is characterised by a catchy bassline, followed by the deep groove of 'Um Bongo.' On the B-side, 'Galactic Snackbar' offers a retro-futuristic feel, while 'Frisko Heaven' wraps up the EP with classic disco-filtered house energy. Timeless tackle, for sure.

Born in Italy and both now residing in the German capital of Berlin. Ruff Stuff and Bress Underground have grown to become know and loved for their raw twist on contemporary house music. Here we see them deliver the second instlament of Ruff Stuff's newly minted Sculptures label with the Stick It EP.

First up is the collaborative title-cut, featuring catchy vocal lines intertwined with airy chords, low slung drums, tension building strings and a bouncy bass groove.

Bress Underground flies solo next with 'Radical Deep', employing a bouncy sub line with organic percussion, and choppy vocal chants running alongside dreamy stab sequences, resonant licks and mystical atmospherics.

Ruff Stuff's 'Like A Question' then rounds out the release, encapsulating a more classic deep house feel via sweeping chords, shuffled drums, dubby stabs and a bumpy bass hits which all subtly evolve and unfold throughout.

We’re bidding farewell to 2024 with fresh music from our favorite duo, Rush City, featuring Jonahlo and Joint4Nine. Their love for old-school house and electro inspired them to rework three classic tracks into fresh, club-ready versions for today’s dancefloors.

The release kicks off with the 1982 boogie funk classic "Be My Girl" by Pee Wee, where Rush City samples the original vocals and layers in 808 drums, funky synth phrases, and acid basslines for an Electro Indie vibe. Next is Dream 2 Science’s 1990 deep house classic “My Love Turns To Liquid,” reworked into a driven, trippy acid house track. The final rework is an electro version of the 80s Italo Disco anthem "Don Quichotte" by Magazine 60, with Rush City re-recording the vocals and synth lines for a fresh, modern twist.
