To close off October on MMD, I have invited newcomer Murk-Mode to share some of his techno with us.

Although new to the scene, he has played a few gigs at Culture (Audiolab's weekly event) as well as having featured on many local and international podcasts. With a heart full of passion he is sure to be invited to some more gigs now that lockdowns levels are lower.

BIO:

Murk-Mode is a Johannesburg based Techno and House focused DJ/Producer

His love for Electronic music started at a young age. By age 11 he knew he would one day be a musician. What started out as a hobby soon turned into more than just that. In October 2020 he started taking classes at Audiolab, a DJ/Production school based in Northgate.

Soon after, he secured his first few gigs playing at Audiolab's weekly "Culture" events hosted in Sandton. He has been working tirelessly to improve and learn as much he can and to hone is craft which he is very passionate about. Recently Murk-Mode also played Sunday Sessions at Sognage hosted by Tunnel Vision. 

He has also had radio features on multiple local and international stations including 5FM. MannMade Radio, Mutha FM, Deep City Sessions, Beach Radio (UK), Radio Racoon (Turkey), UnderBlue Radio (Argentina) and CBEM - Overseas Sessions (Miami)

Murk-Mode's signature sound is mainly focused around Peak Time styles of Techno, with deep grooves and a hint of mysterious dark soundscapes that gives it that true Murk-Mode sound. He is also very passionate about more Melodic and Progressive styles of House and Techno with a hint of underground Tech House to mix things up a little.

Murk-Mode also hosts his own weekly Podcast via Mixcloud through which he aims to give artists a platform to showcase their sound on and also to give  himself more room to experiment and showcase different styles of dance music which he enjoys while still staying true to the main focus of the Murk-Mode project.
