To the lands of Switzerland, does our gaze turn today. Zurich based Project Indigo is looking to one of its founders for the latest release. ‘i thought it was yesterday’, by boaksi is an emotive album full of twists and turns from ambient to breakbeat, showing off the skill of the swiss producer’s grasp on creating moments that will hang in the air even after the final note is played.

Fermi’s Paradox comes in as the B3 side of the double vinyl release, with the dulcet tones of boaski starting almost immediately and enveloping the listener in their warmth. Mix them together with a tastefully done guitar riff, breakbeat percussion, and a hint of melancholy, and you’ve got a winner on your hands. 

‘i thought it was yesterday’ will be released in digital on April 9, 2022 and vinyl in late summer.

First out of two of Ly Sander's 'Landing' album samplers released on Special place, the package presents two tracks both serviced with a dedicated remix that offer a deep yet often unheard insight into what dance music can mean. 

Preoccupation about the impact of mankind on the planet is nothing new, as the radio excerpt at the basis of 'Marching to where' clearly exposes. Nevertheless, climate change or the war in Ukraine remind us cruelly how access to food at a reasonable price is currently at stake for parts of the world's population albeit our heavy colonization of the earth. Perspectives are rather gloomy and this track exposes just that, with a historical perspective. 

Jacques Bon was kind enough to take on remixing duties. He has released music on an array of high-rated record labels including Tim Sweeney's seminal imprint, Beats In Space, Mule Musiq, Giegling, Kann, Live At Robert Johnson and Smallville Records. Not just a solo flier, Jacques also co-produced choice deep-diving joints with the likes of Christopher Rau and Chicago House pioneers, Virgo Four. 

And if it's difficult to leave aside the seriousness of the topic of this track Jacques brought some hope and sweetness to his mix as well as his dreamy atmosphere. And with the increased bpm it's even dancefloor friendly, hurra!

As one has come to expect from a Rising Sun release ‘The Eternal’ has a firm foundation in emotive melodies and atmospherics across six alternate versions. ‘Eternal 1’ leads with muted drums, fluttering stabs and a preaching spoken word vocal. ‘Eternal 2’ edges into darked realms, merging expansive dub echoes with swelling subs and tension building strings before ‘Eternal 3’ dives head first into ethereal hypnotism via unfurling textures, soft stab sequences and a rounded kick.
‘Eternal 4’ opens the B-side with a subtly unfolding construction as vocals, chords and swinging drums run in unison. ‘Eternal 5’ then strips things back to a gritty statured feel with boomy percussion,
enchanting strings and nuanced stabs before ‘Eternal 6’ rounds out the release laying down murky, multilayered pads, widely dispersing reverberations and bubbling delays throughout.

French producer and hardware specialist @amandraaa returns to Nous'klaer with four stoic, minimal club tracks that are so delicate and deftly produced that they beg to heard as loud as possible and as quietly as possible, allowing the listener to inspect every nook and cranny of Amandra's sonic tapestry. Opener "Lavanvilla" rides a simple drum loop that's filled out by gated, beautiful noise that gets punctuated by vibey Rhodes 7th chord and a constantly evolving 16th percussion pattern that gracefully pushes that song forward. "Palette Doree" and "Edition Collector" are Amandra's most swung offerings, lively sampled percussion and lush synths that offer endless breathing space for these beautiful numbers to exhale. "Pana Ondine" is the dance floor workhorse with a soft and punchy kick, rough stabbing bass hook, wispy ride and a mesmerizing arpeggio, the track never calls your attention loudly but instead gently lures you into its grasp.
