These tracks really fit with the labels output right now , from Brine's Infectious house jam 'let's brake' to Piers Kirwan's Deep House/Bruk crossover track 'tonight' . Label partner Chezz adds another gem with 'touch' , an infusion of Latin rhythms and deep synth chords. Rounding up the EP we have a track from Dance Regular's Szajna , 'Paneer 65' delivers a heavy percussive Bruk workout in Bill's usual inimitable style.

Wild Oats proudly presents a new 7 inch from Kyle Hall entitled ‘Eutrophia Sevan’. This project is an ode to the earth and its plant based life forms that give us sustenance, nurturing, and knowledge through both its cultivation, observation, and consumption.

Additional Notes & Thoughts:

It is my understanding that all energetic material in which we interact with serves as a software of a kind that is loaded into our systems via our five senses and influence the manner in which we behave and process our realities.

Plants have many ways of interacting with our senses. One form of this sensory interaction with plants is the ingestion of them for the purpose of intoxication. In this form the plant sends information to our neural networks which we interpret as sensation of a shift in our state of mind, body, and spirit. When a plant of this type is in the hands of a creative mind, these shifts in ones perspective can allow for the possibility of the integration of new concepts and ideas that can provide insight in an array of aspects of its consumers life experience. From this unification one now begins to see the connection between things that were once to them seemingly unrelated. These teachings then become motifs that then can be applied to whatever the creative individuals mode of expression is.

Of course we also eat certain plants to provide sustenance, nourishment and satiation. The Sweet Potato root is one of these plants that provide this for us. Having a feeling of being full, nourished, and satisfied gives a stronger capacity to be grounded. Being grounded allows for us to focus and align ourselves with what we must do in order to attract what we personally need in our lives.

Eating a plants fruit, taking its seed and caring for it till it grows into plant itself is a symbolism of the overall connection between all life and all processes that occur with in it. This indicates that plants contain a level of supreme intelligence that can only be tapped into by our communion and honoring of them.

We’re super excited to present the latest artist to join the Dirt Crew stable, French producer Sekou Babe. He ticked all the right boxes for us with this beautiful debut EP "Foresight Prevents Blindness” which explores his fresh and vibey outlook on house with sideways glances to smokey jazz, breaks and garage.

The a-side lines up three varied tunes. “Perspectives of the Youth” and “Soukoun” step in quickly with lively breakbeat rhythms. The first boasting warm soul vocals and steady bass groove, the second a melancholic yet uplifting back and forth between vintage piano and warbling rhodes. “Treize Zero Zero Trois” is a deep and dreamy house jam. Cinematic elements infused with punchy percussion and 80s sonic touches add up to good times all round.

On the B, our good friend Nachtbraker does what he does best, flipping “Treize Zero Zero Trois” bringing the deep, dubby Amsterdam vibrations. His version is lush, textural and slightly fruity, with surging synths, tropical percussion and a stomping kick. Sekou Babe rounds things off with the extravagant “Crown Collection”, showing us yet another colour in his musical spectrum. It’s trip hop meets Detroit where warped strings introduce shuffling drums before the track begins to build layering subtle arpeggios, smooth pads, crash hits and a buoyant melody.

Sekou Babe would like to add that all tracks were written and produced by b.b. at 7e Republique Studio and says thanks to Peter, Ghizlène, Mohammed and Florian, you beautiful souls.

It’s always special to be part of a record label’s birth, so we’re stoked to welcome London label Dance Regular to our catalogue of premieres with the B1 – For You Around Me by Trev – from their first record. 
James Rudie and EVM128 have started the label, which they say will orbit around styles like House, Bruk, Soul, Jazz, Boogie, Half Time, Jungle, Ragga, and more. Multiple records are already set for release in 2019, but the first, which includes our premiere track, will be up for grabs from 7th June. 

Body Music Vol 1 is its name – a six-track, various artist EP. From the dark wobbly bass of the opening track by Xtra Brux, to the light and playful melodies on the B2 by Szajna, the musical diversity here is striking. 

For You Around Me is an intelligent, jazz-house fusion whose intensity undulates in parallel with ethereal strings. It features a 50/50 mix of 4x4 and more breakbeat, syncopated drums. Layered keys, including a quintessential jazz sound in a Rhodes keyboard, lull us into the onset of strings and drums, each escalating until the bass kicks in shortly after the minute-mark and the track takes off. 

Overall, it’s six-minutes of intriguing rhythms soaked, in a measured way, with melodies that move back and forth between flowing moodiness in House form and lighter, more glitchy jazz.
