Nathan Micay is pleased to present the next re-issue on Eternal Schvitz: Mouvement Perpetuel - Sexuel Mouvement, three incredible dance cuts written by Jerome ‘Pacman’ Elia. Originally released on Obsession Music in 1997, the A-side went on to become a cult favourite after appearing on Sasha & Digweed’s North Exposure Expeditions mix in 1999. Since then, copies of the original 12-inch record have sold for astronomical sums. Now, over 20 years later, this gem is lovingly restored and available to a new generation of DJ’s and music lovers.

As always, Schvitz gives back. From any profits raised, 60% of the cut to the artists and ensuring their credits are front and centre. The remaining 40% of profits will go to aequa, a Berlin-based collective with a focus on empowerment of women, trans and non- binary folks through gatherings for interpersonal exchange. Maybe it needed a move to finally step into the limelight. Maybe it needed the width, ironically speaking, of a Stockholm apartment to finish his first EP. Callum Nixon, better known under his artist alias Planar Traits, 'escaped' from his ordinary life in Glasgow and moved to the Swedish capital where he finalized the upcoming Portal Vision EP on Magic Carpet – the artist's first full release and with all honesty speaking, it's a game changer and not only for the artist himself. Shortly before it's out, Torture the Artist caught up with the Callum Nixon to speak about the release, his studio routines, differences between the scenes in his old Scottish home and his Stockholm residence, his insecurities when it comes to own music, pressure he puts on himself, how his artist moniker Planar Traits came about and his early days respectively his teenage years in music. This was an album that was made when I moved to Seattle in 2020. I was intrigued by the idea of a future where robots have replaced humans and are mimicking their ancestors by going to electronic 'cafes'. What would they be listening to?

It's now 2024, almost a quarter of a century later. The idea is one that I think is closer then we think.

RECOGNIZER is an acronym for what happened to humanity, and is buried somewhere within the album. See if you can where it's hidden..

In the wake of a spread of releases Urulu arrives, the latest convert to the Kalahari Oyster Cult. "Transworld" is the American artist's first gift to the diety. The track physically jitters into life as broken beats and classic samples give rise to an elusive melody of spaced out synthlines and expansive arcs. Shapes are a central theme of the EP, like the exotic curves, playful percussion and full bodied bass of "Precinct 9." Urulu toys with assumed structures, nowhere is this more evident than in the bizarre and brilliant medley of bleeps, honks, squeaks and bold beats that make up "Groove Therapy." Trippy samples introduce "Precinct 9 (Extremix)," a final psychedelic trip of Technicolor trance to bring the listener back from a journey known as Ex-Terrestrial.
