It has been a crazy inspiring year and I was lucky to get the opportunity to express that in such a beautiful way. 

Here is a selection of pivotal ambient tracks, a glimpse into French impressionism and synesthesia, contemporary classical, film scores and sound collages from some of my adventures around the world chasing this music dream. 

This was a completely new experience for me, I've never played an ambient set before and never attempted to record music in a Gothic cathedral before. What you're hearing is a mix of line-out and microphone recordings from around the pulpit. 

Of course, with any experiment, the first time is a steep learning curve. Luckily I was invited back to this magnificent place in March 2015 and can't wait to go deeper into this process.

Things that have to happen happen

Just returned back from Burning Man, where we happened to meet these two really nice fellas who turned out to be the fathers of this little cloud. Thanks guys!
Even if we only stayed a few days, Nico Stojan and me had an amazing time with all ups and downs and of course plenty of dust everywhere.
Being in Black Rock City was a perfect reset and somehow seems to become more and more of a new general birthday, meaning that after Burning Man you start into a new year.
This is exactly how I feel. One year has come to an end and a new one is taking over. Also it coincides with the end of the summer up here in the northern hemi.
Now I am very looking forward to go back to the studio and meditate with my machines and cables. I urgently need this time to become a bit more quiet, not yet hibernating, but still creative. This is the reason why there won’t be many shows in the next months. But yet there are some more Acid Sundays to come and of course you always are invited to tune in, turn on and drop out, be it here or on mixcloud or simply on acid. 

Now let’s jump a little back to the beginning of this summer. After a Fusion pause last year it was about time to return and I have to say it was more than a pleasure to play at Seebühne that early Sunday morning, right after Be Svendsen’s amazing set. For some moments even the sun joined for a little dance. And there were so many happy faces to see.
The last 20 minutes are a reminiscence to my set at Splore festival, New Zealand, earlier this year.  I had brought some of my favorite Kiwi music, but ended up in a rush towards the end as they were cutting my set-time. I wanted to to this one more time, properly, without rush. Fusion was the perfect place and moment for it.
You probably might find some tracks that you already know from my others sets, but frankly, I think rather a bit of repetition than not sharing this one at all.
There is one track in particular that I have been playing over and over for the past nine months and I still can not get bored of it. It manifested the day Nana went on to her journey. 
With all my heart, I believe that I was only channelling at the studio that day, because if it really was a track that I had made consciously I would surely have gotten bored after playing it that often ;-)
A lot of people have been asking wether it will be released and when. I am happy to announce: Yes it will be released, almost soon. Even more happy that it will be released on one of my favorite labels, I never dared to ask.
But see, things that have to happen happen.

Earlier this year Desert Dwellers released their most diverse album in the duo's long career. The Great Mystery was the first full length collaborative project between the main founders Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe, and featured a wide range of styles and aesthetics from downtempo and psychedelic dub to tribal trance to exotic house and techno flavors.

To celebrate the special release, Desert Dwellers have curated an ambitious two-part remix album full of contributions from some of the brightest luminaries and rising talents across the underground electronic music landscape. The Great Mystery Remixes Part 1 is slated for a September 21st release, and features sonic reinterpretations from Gaudi, Liquid Stranger, Hibernation, An-ten-nae, Kaminanda, AtYya, Tribone, Twin Shape, Land Switcher, Drumspyder, and Govinda. The second part will be released in late October with contributions from Emancipator, Whitebear, Sixis, Mystral, Supersillyus, Halfred, Master Minded, and many others. True to form – ‘Left-Handed’ is no different. The colourful 9-track work was born out of a booze-fuelled accident around Christmas last year that resulted in a fracture to Steinberg’s right wrist. With his girlfriend heading home for the holidays and a broken internet connection, the Berliner had little else to do but pour his focus into music.

It was at the age of 8 that Jeremy, alias Several Definitions, developed his desire to be in the world of music by receiving drums for Christmas. He took lessons for more than 6 years, played several concerts for his friends and learned the basics of music. After he received his first paycheck, Jeremy bought his first turntables. Growing up in the Hip Hop culture, he liked scratching with his friends but over time, Jeremy was more and more interested in the faster beats of house music. He was 18 years old when he made his first tracks. Active by nature, Jeremy headed to a mix between house and electro sounds. He quickly associated with another swiss DJ and formed the duo “Radi & Keith”. During this time, the two fellows move towards a deeper kind of music with catchy sounds. They released several tracks on different labels such as Seven City music, Funktion Black, Vamos music, Housesession and others. The moniker “Several Definitions” was created in 2014, after Jeremy decided to continue a solo career to pursue his techno leaning influences. According to him, loss, love and joy are the feelings that give him the greatest inspiration. His productions are intense and full of unique sounds, all built on a line of percussions. Warm atmospherics, captivating melodies and immersive beats, the mix is just perfect. Nico Stojan‘s rise within the Berlin house scene started with a residency inside the famed walls of Bar 25.

When Bar 25 closed its doors, new ones had already begun to open, and his deep, almost pensive take on Berlin night music had him spending his weekends playing clubs such as Panoramabar, Watergate and of course, Bar 25‘s spawn, Katerholzig.

A classically trained clarinette player, Nico Stojan often surrenders its sound live, weaving it through the lusty mood of his sets – it was only natural that he evolved from DJ to producer and soon the Berlin underground were being treated to his own releases on labels such as Highgrade, Connaisseur and Upon You Records.

Collaborating with other artists has been an important role on his journey - leading to projects and remixes for the likes of Philip Bader, NU, Pele, Acid Pauli and Andri to name a few. With his European successes having taken him all over the continent, Nico‘s fate pushed him onto an international platform. Venturing to New Zealand, he has taken bookings all over the Pacific ocean whilst being the right man for the job in supporting international acts when on tour.

Chopstick & Johnjon’s Berlin based Suol label follow up their balmy Summer Daze collection with an equally warming EP from label stalwarts Ulrich Harrison and Marlon Hoffstadt a.k.a Tender Games. 
Having had a busy summer including live shows at a slew of international festivals the artful pair offer up their "Notion" EP: a 4 track collection of gently ambling rhythms and heart-rending melodicism.
Swooning and snaring vocals are spread and reverberated before "Walking On" is formed upon a theme of altruism. Purring organ tones and patterning tambourines interweave ahead of an arresting Rhodes motif before urgency is added through the injection of layered synths and additive percussion.
