3 QUESTIONS to LEXER:

Q: Getting deeper into your mix - how did these tracks shape your life and what do they still mean to you?

A: There are a few tracks that I started with when I first really listened and felt music. For example MJ, that was my childhood. When I was 6 years old, I was at a live concert of him. Unforgettable. He influenced me musically the most. Furthermore, there are tracks that I played at the beginning of my DJ career. So it is a nice mix of my childhood music and music that I played with my first DJ knowledge. 

Q: What did you do since the lockdown has started a year ago?

A: I think like almost everyone I've worked on an album. Now that I've finished that, I'm busy working on new originals for occasional releases.

Q: Which future projects are on the way?

A: I am starting my own label together with my friend Tom Zeta. This will be a platform for our own music and later we want to release music from other artists on it. But for now the focus is on our own music.

3 QUESTIONS to KADOSH:

Q: Let's get into the mood for your mix. Why did you choose these tracks and what did they meant to you once and still mean to you today?

A: I choose these tunes because although they don't represent my sound, they do reflect in various ways my approach as an artist these days. Needless to say, this music influenced my romantic journey with electronic music.

Q: Would you still play some of those tracks in your DJ sets today?

A: The answer is yes. Most have been dropped during the years in my sets. I believe that in the right moment, each track has its place during the journeys I try to create.

Q: What projects are you currently working on and what can we expect from you soon?

A: Last year my main focus in the studio was on creating the album which was released in August, while in 2023 my goal is to put out more singles which some already found their way to labels like Multinotes, Rebirth, Exploited, Monaberry, Live at Robert Johnson, and many more. Parallel to that, I plan to keep working with some of the amazing artists on my label Frau Blau. Furthermore, you can catch me play during the next months in Europe at some of my favorite destinations. I will also return to Latin America for a few shows, as well as debut in some spots in Asia which will be announced soon. BIO
Again and again Florian Herzberg – the mastermind behind My Secret Playground – is drawn to his hometown Vienna. A city full of old glory and vanity, a spirit of optimism and standstill in the same way. On his releases the now Berlin-based producer combines these peculiarities in Electro and modern sounding 80s tracks. Rolling aggressive beats are replaced by broad synths and strings. Pounding kick drums paired with nostalgic vocal lines and vocoders make the leap into the 21st century and give My Secret Playgrounds an own contemporary Indie Dance sound.

For more than a decade Florian has been based out of Berlin; in the German capital, he has not only found his unique musical voice – but emotional solidity within his greatest passion.
2014 he launched his live music project ‘My Secret Session’, an event where DJs and musicians improvise live together to dance music. Through this session he was able to shape the unique organic sound width of My Secret Playground and also work with the best musicians in town. Since then Florian has been performing internationally as a DJ and with his band, creating a variety of sounds that sets him apart from the rest.

His track „Wir Tanzen“ on Rabotat Records, combined with the viral video during Quarantine 2020, followed by his EP „Fears of Tears„, on Melopee Records, pushed My Secret Playground to a wider audience. His latest releases have all made it into the Beatport Indie Charts Top100. His latest tracks have been released on Jeahmon! and Sincopat.

Since 2022 Florian organizes the hedonistic Party Theme Whipped Cream – a colorful dance soiree with artists like Freundthal, Vlad Yaki, Bizzarro Universe or Myrddin.

My Secret Playground releases on labels such as Melopee Records, Sincopat, Jeahmon!, and Rabotat Records.

Indie Dance The Mix Series  My Secret Playground

A prime memory from our first Burn in 2019 is dancing at DISTRIKT for a Robot Heart tie-up with a big group of friends, full of joy and awe and acting like goofballs. That year we had camped at 10&K. Flash forward four years later, we found ourselves opening up DISTRIKT's 2023 season in their new home at 10&K. So much has changed in four years, both globally and personally as we've moved into the creation part of our electronic music journey instead of just being appreciators.

One thing that hasn't changed a bit is the joy and awe we feel being present in the dust with thousands of our closest friends and bringing those memories home with us each year as fuel. Thank you to DISTRIKT for giving us the opportunity to experience such a beautiful full-circle moment. These tunes are all about setting the groove as you begin a new journey.
